That's greta news to my ears, TW!!

A planned rest day for me today..... at least from running. Will do some cross-vacuuming in preparation for my brother's visit this week, 'cause this place is a pig-sty. I even still have some Xmas stuff yet to put away.

Hey Winejunky! Nice to see you, how's it going?

Heme, I know the feeling. My house always looks like that.

Nice race for you yesterday, Opie! I agree with Tamster that you're in for some good PR's this year.

And the Gobi-duo turned in another stellar performance. WTG to Mrs G for her win!

Some nice running around here lately. I was in Dallas all week, left last Friday and spent the weekend in Juneau (had some wonderful runs there, an 11 mile tempo run on Saturday and 21 miles on Sunday... amazing what flat terrain and no snow will do for a run!!), then went to Dallas on Monday, home on Friday. I ran once. Just once, and it was short. What a crazy busy week. It's rare for me to go on a trip like that and never even make it to the hotel fitness center. Oh well. I'd built a severe cutback into my plan with 60 miles the week before. I'll be lucky to get 35 miles in this week!

10.1 mile progressive pace run on the treadmill yesterday. I'd wanted to get outside, but it's just too damn cold out there. Hmph. Should've done it yesterday though because it's even colder today. Glad February is half way over... March is on the way and spring can't be far behind... RIGHT??? I'll get a run in later today, probably the 'mill again. It's -27° here at the house, and -36° downtown now. Just tired of this crap. (oh, and how nice of Dallas to turn the heat off when I was there...!!)

Holy crap that's cold, Erika. Thanks for not saying, you call those hills? WJ, come around more often. I keep thinking how cool it would be to be "chicked" by Mrs. Gobi. I'm going to the Y with my DW for swimming. It was originally scheduled for tomorrow but seize the moment!

GReat race yesterday Opie. Four minutes is huge.

Erika, last year when I went to Dallas, it was in the 30s. I had waited a couple months for a warm weather race and raced in the snow just like all the other races around Ohio. This winter I have boycotted all cold weather races!!

Getting ready to go to the anytime fitness to get my run in. The plan is to do some pickups but I will have to see how tired I am after yesterdays effort.

4 recovery paced miles in the woods, followed by 4 hours of housework xtraining. That is supposed to pay dividends, but now I'm too beat to collect.

Speaking of earning points, I volunteered to go grocery shopping, which I often do anyway. They have roses there, too. Good running, TW.

I was going to say I have DOMS today but then I thought, it wasn't delayed. It hurt during the race, more during the cooldown going uphill and it still hurts. I think the swimming helped some.

Good, it works now...

Friday my team went "dancing". I don't think the instructor was expecting such a fit group. We got through the 2 hour pole dancing class in an hour, so she spent the second hour teaching us chair dancing. It's much more practical in my opinion. My quads and arms were really sore on Saturday.

Saturday we ran the second half of the Mountain Marathon my team is hosting in March. 14 miles and four hours later we were missing 3 runners. 2 were found within half an hour, the 3rd required a call to search and rescue. A storm was approaching and there was no way we were leaving a runner out there. Hours later he was found with a broken foot.

Today I ran marathon #75. I was so sore last night, I wasn't sure I could run today. The first half was slow and painful, but I warmed up and ran a 15 minute negative split.

Now I'm officially exhausted.

Greetings, Masterfuls.

Some days, it's tough to get computer time around here, what with two teens and all. I got out for three miles in the late afternoon, which in recent years has been a disaster -- my body has shown a decided preference for late-morning runs or, more specifically, those with but one meal consumed. But it went smoothly, and I have to believe it's because I am getting into better shape, at long last.

Good runs, all
