Good afternoon, TEAM!

Me...

Mountain Race #3 in the USATF-New England Mountain Circuit was Pack Monadnock, a 10 mile mountain race that is all road or hard packed dirt. First 8.5 miles is a traditional road race, if you will, where you climb via rolling ups and some downs up over 1000 feet. The last 1.5 is a climb of the auto road to Pack that is steeper than Mount Washington. Last year I died on that climb because I went out as if the race were a 5K. That strategy proved to be a winner, because this year I paced myself over the first two miles, punched home the climb at the end in great standing, but finished three minutes slower. Serves me for trying to figure the course out. Next time? Just race the bloddy thing. Forget pacing. Fun time. Great people.

Julie - did you race Moosey yesterday?

Me - Spontaneous family hike yesterday afternoon up Rattlesnake in Rumney, NH. Good for a 90 minute workout. Hammy felt good so I think I'm going to ease back into running and riding this week.

Today- filled hundred and hundreds of water and gatorade cups, then handed them out, then picked up all the empties off the road.

DS Hockey Team had the water stop at mile 9 of the Covered Bridges Half Marathon in Quechee, VT.

Beautiful day for a race and we had a blast supporting the runners. I didn't leave that water table until the last person passed and I cheered him on.

It was nice to be on the other side of the race although its driving me crazy not to participate! My sights are now set on the Timberman sprint later this summer.

Deer Creek Oly tri this morning. I'm doing the Wheelie Fun series and figured Deer Creek would be a throw away race as I'm not really trained plus a week of heavy gardening left me feeling flat. Swim sucked. Decent bike. Run was okay and I was surprised at how many people I passed. Shocker of all shockers-- I won my AG. Go figure!
