Hi guys! Just saw the swim start at CdA. Go Ron! I've been MIA but still training. Have my first tri of the year next weekend. My husband is at the cottage so I'm stuck on the trainer this evening for an hour or so. Enjoy your workouts and IM tracking everybody!

Day of no workouts, not necessarily one of rest. Spent the morning puttering in the kitchen making bread and a salad we're bringing to a BBQ later then had lunch then I spent an hour fiddling with my commute bike changing tires. Time for a run just never materialized since we need to leave for the BBQ shortly.

US Mountain Chamionship up at Cranmore Mountain. Sounds better than it is, sort of. Didn't need to qualify for it, and it is part of the USATF-NE Mountain Race Series, so to the race I went. No idea on placement other than I did not qualify for anything, but I also didn't expect to qualify for anything, so no worries. But was nice to run on the same course as the top mountain runners in the US. Most were from CO, CA, WA, AZ, UT, etc. Ran a great race and came closer in finish place to those who usually finish farther up. Course was three identical loops of 4K. Was 2K straight up the mountain, then back down. Repeat. Probably the most fun race I have ever done, but also among the hardest, both for the second year in a row. Love Cranmore Mountain!

Small RR: Since Saturday's thread is locked, I'll put up both Sat and Sun

Sat - "Big Man Run." About 4.3 miles of - run to a bar, drink a beer, eat a hotdog. Run to another bar, eat a bear, drink a hotdog, run back to 1st bar, drink a beer, eat a hotdog, sprint to the finish. Try not to puke. it was about 4.3, and I did it in 46 min. The premise is this.. 2 weight classes, 190-210 and 210 plus. There were a few well over 280 and a couple over 300 lots of walkers, etc.

I was 49th of 150 finishers. I also barely made the weigh in, if I was under 190, I'd be a skinny, I drank water and had a bagel on the way, also were my jacket, so I was 191.5 and just made it!! (I'm not sure it's a good thing) Anyway, It was fun, and next year, I hope to be a skinny - you get made fun of :) Then I drank more beer and took a nap around 4 (there was a Jazz festival after) Woke up at 7 from my nap with a Hangover. Beer does not make a good hydration strategy, and a hot dog is not great race nutrition
