<p>Hello!  I am finally home.  It was a long 11-day trip.  Especially the last two days in Shanghai weren't fun because I got food poisoning (or contaminated water, or whatever) and spent the most painful and scary evening....  Then, my flight to Chicago got delayed, so I was rerouted to Newark which again was delayed due to the weather, then missed a connection to Detroit.  Ended up staying extra night in NJ.  My stomach is ok but I feel pretty weak and dizzy (not sure dizziness is related to the stomach issue or not).  After some thinking, I decided to hit a singletrack just to enjoy the outdoor and clear my head from other headaches (i.e. parenting).  My body was stiff and I fell once.  Totally uninspiring ride.  It was nice to get out.  It may take a while to get out of this ickyness. </p>

<p>Me, 3.5hr ride @ 60miles.</p>
<p> </p>
<p>That's it. It's all in the bank. Nothing but recovery, body work, and mobility. I survived Ironman training. My wife still lets me in the house, the kids know me, the dog doesn't growl, I'm not broke, I'm not injured. Whew.</p>

<p>Race today was kinda disappointing. I just couldn't breathe and it cost me about 30 seconds/mile. I was able to pick it up in the last half and run a negative split. Kinda tough to see people I normally beat getting awards and not getting anything myself. Still, this was the best I've run on this course. Every year I seem to have some kind of problem that prevents me from putting in a solid effort. Vicki struggled too. Maybe we'll do better at the race next week.</p>

Warm/mid 50s to upper 60s - Sunny and light wind. Garden of the Gods 10 mile race. Non-stop hilly course. Didn't feel great, couldn't breathe properly. Ran as well as I could considering.</p>

<p>The race this morning didn't tire me out enough, so I got out the bike for a ride in the freaking wind. Time for a beer now!</p>

Hot/mid 80s - Sunny and very strong winds, 25-35 w/gusts 45+. Rode over to Fountain Creek trail, north to Sand Creek trail cutoff, return via Las Vegas St. & Hwy 85. Had some energy to burn off. Tough ride in the wind.</p>

<p>7.03 mile run for me today. Kept it in HR zone 2 and did my 9 min run 1 min walk intervals even though it wasn't a run longer than 90 min because that's what I'll be doing at my half-iron on Saturday. Finished in a bit more than 72 minutes. 10:15/mi.  In January, I never thought I'd see that pace while running in HR zone 2!</p>

DOR. I'm freakin' exhausted and I'm not even training! Bannons are coming over for dinner so I'll have some much needed stress relief.
