I believe tha yesterday was basically a complete waste of existance for me. I did nothing. All day. I was going to see if DS wanted to go for a little jog this morning before it gets hot, but DW said she had a rough night last night w/ DD, so shes gonna sleep in.

Big race tonight. Sposed to be over 2,000 runners there, which is really big for a 5K here. Its a chip race though. Too bad the high is going to be 98*. By 7pm, it'll will probably be a bone chilling 96*... I think my game plan tonight will be view it as a 2 mile race, Maybe try to hit 6:30 for one and 2, then just see how I feel for the reamainder. If nothing else, I shouldn't be isolated at the end of the race with that many runners... surely there'll be someone to help push me at the end. This is not an 'a' race, and I havn't exactly trained for it, so I'm not expecting Fireworks ( its called the Firecracker 5K ). Did I mention Budweiser of Memphis is a supporting sponser?

Got to the prairie path at 5:30am this morning and did 18 miles totally on the path to maximize shade. Still felt gross out there, maybe 69-70 at the start and humid. The first couple of miles I was shaking off the cobwebs both figuratively and literally. A little bit quicker than the last few weeks, things felt easy and I didn't hold back as much at the beginning... paid for it a little at the end but not too bad. Rest day tomorrow.
