started the day off with some speedwork on the run - 40 minutes total with the main set being 4 x 3' faster than 5k pace with 3' recovery. Not sure on all the specifics as my Garmin refused to do anything but act as a normal watch.

Followed that by watching the TdF and ITU race from London - both while following both the pro race and Adam at IMLP

Planning on cycling later.

I got in 90 bike miles and 4 running yesterday for Adam, but none today. I spent the morning watching my wife race, then my truck got stuck in the swamp they had us park in at 5am in the morning. Waiting forever for a tow truck, mud head to tow.... really fun stuff. Finally back at parents ready to chow on some burgers!

2000 meter outdoor swim in honor of Adam's efforts today. Spending a week in Kiawah Island, with my family. I think it's hotter back home in Philly! About to crash for a nap after way too little sleep last night.

Go Adam!!

2000m in the fishbowl. Temp was about 88*. Just could not get anything going. Stopped after 1000m to attempt to cool down, but since the room was even hotter... Cut workout short as it just wasn't worth it.

After church headed out for a spin. First leg was into a wicked HW. Alt between rain and full sun. HOOOOMID!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Stopped at a little park for water--drank an entire bottle, refilled then out of there. Ended up with only 44m. Thougth it would be longer. Oh well, quite the enjoyable little spin.

9 miles running this morning for me - 8 miles on my own then joined for the last mile by my 2 boys - they smoked my fat arse

but a nice morning to run

20 minutes after I came home I noticed a load of bikes going down my road - realised it was a charity 60 mile bike ride - saw 2 guys stop just past my house - one of the guys had a double flat - and neither had a clue how to change a flat and they only had 1 spare tube between them - so I got some positive karma coming my way and changed it for them and showed them how to do it if it happens again and also gave them a couple of spare tubes

Part of me is shocked that people will go and do that distance on a bike and not even know how to change a tyre

have a good day folks

3 mile run this morning before it got stoopid hot to ease myself back into training. Hit the farmer's market and now settling down with some cherries, some rose, some knitting, and the DVR'd final stage

Neil--son1 did that 3-week 1700mile bike tour. Many of the kids have ridden multiple years. And several don't know how to fix a flat! They don't know and have no desire to learn. The BEST thing that the bike club ever did was fix my first flat, then talk me through the second flat. Needless to say, when son1 started riding with me, he learned!

2:30 ride @ 44 miles doing 3x30min @ z3. Well that was the plan, but HR said otherwise. Could not keep it up, was like it was 20beats low. Makes sense, I'm dog ass tired.

FIB 10mile ride @ z1 or less sheparding a bunch of civilians on a community bike ride I helped organize. Was going to be DS1's first ride but he was sick so no joy there :(

54 mile ride in 3:00 (18 MPH). So friggin' hot out there, thanks the fact that I didn't start my ride until around 9:00AM (finishing right at noon). FIB 30 minute run, that actually ended up being 27 minutes for a total of around 3 miles (very slow). I was supposed to be running in Z2 so I had to walk a few times to get my heart rate down. The heat and the humidity were killing me....but I got it done. Just kept thinking about AdCo doing IMLP and how easy my workout was compared to what he was going through.

Oh, also locked out of the house for about two hours. Sat in the backyard in a lawn chair and sprayed myself down with a hose to keep cool.
