Can't sleep... and believe it or not, theres not much going on at 2:54 a.m.

Rest day today. Jerk DirecTV guy finally shows up yesterday at 5:00, then tries to tell me he's gotta charge me $60 on top of the $99 DirecTV has allready billed me, with no sleep, that did not sit well with me. Long story short, he left w/ no money, and I have satelite in the Man-cave now.... but my Xbox is in black and white still....

Anywho, good luck out there today.

Oh yea, anyone here ride mountain bikes for cross training? I've been wanting a road bike for sometime now, but it seems to be more places to ride a MTB around here versus a RB (safely anyhow), not to mention how much cheaper they are.

BBS-Not anything useful to share as for biking, but way to show that guy you are not to be messed with. ;)

57 slow and stumbly minutes out there. Pretty cold and my legs just ached, glad to be done.

BBS--you might ask over in multisport. Personally, on occasion I'll take a mountain bike for a spin--in the snow is fun--but I don't count it as a workout. If I want to get a good workout, I'll take the road bike for a spin.

Good afternoon all,

I had been planning to hit up the local open indoor meet this morning, but I bagged it...yesterday's trail run took a lot out of me. All that snow running worked my legs and feet in unusual ways and I decided a recovery day today would make more a lot more sense. Of course, a "recovery run" day for me is (or at least can be) a long run day for DW, and she's due for one today. So it's looking like 7 super easy miles, probably at the snow covered lake trail.

BBS - I'm in the market for a new mountain bike too. After basically getting my super-elite road bike for next to nothing last year (a co-worker basically gave it to me and I spent some $ to get it tuned up, properly fitted, etc.), I have budget to turn over the MTB now. From what I can tell you can get a reasonably good one for $500-700.

I beg to differ though about MTBs not counting as a workout. Mountain/trail biking is not as fast but it can be hard as hell. It's all what you make it.

Hi everyone. The weather was so beautiful today that we took the laptop outside and did our plyometrics workout in the backyard. Then one mile to keep up the streak, and I am wiped.

Guess I just treat mountain bike rides as "casual" and don't put that much into it.

After a much needed nap this afternoon, I woke to beautiful SUN SHINE!!! Almost didn't know what that glowing ball in the sky was. Quickly changed into running gear and headed to the metropark. 5 laps 'round the lower meadow loop. Although I certainly didn't plan it that way, it turned into a progressive run, with each lap faster. First lap was the hardest. Legs reminded me of the 5k and hard ride I did yesterday, then the kick sets this morning. Not sure if they just got warmed up or gave up on complaining. FUN little trot. I'll be heading to church here in a bit with a nice line on my forehead from the beanie. Oh well. Morning church I go with goggle marks.
