Wow I am le tired. Bed time at 2:30 talking with a running buddy I met a few weeks ago who will be visiting soon. Waking up at 7:30. Sleeping about 3-4 hours short of what I usually get...

Definitely looking forward to my nap afterwork.

11 miles on the Dismal Swamp multi-use trail in 90% humidity/80 degree temps. With the humidity it was pretty dismal, but I staggered through.

Good things were I saw a green snake, a frog, and 2 deer right on the path, and the biting flies were nowhere to be seen.

Seven miles.

I share my piece of road with some odd farm vehicles and machinery.

I have no idea what it was that was churning along towards me today, but it was sort of like a big tractor with these spinning knife-y things twirling around behind it. The driver was kind enough to move into the real traffic lane for me to pass.

Hey,

8.5ish miles (no garmin today) along the river paths. I stopped after 10k or so and ran strides on a soccer field in bare feet. That was the highlight of my run. Oh, and I think I saw two matching Suicide Girls on skateboards.

Plan tonight was a marathon-specific 15 mile run with 12 at race pace.

Problem is, the trail was not an option today, so I had to do this run on pavement. So, I did it a little different.

I ran over to my off-season hill repeats course. Then I did 10 of my 1-mile hill repeats course. On the way back I did 2 of the 2.75 miles at a faster pace.

I figure with the Equinox being hilly, that is not a bad way to do it.

Run Segments
Didn't run today. But instead I hiked up 5600+ ft. Mt. Monroe in NH with jensparks and vogelmd. The upper half of the hike was extremely rocky and steep. That was fine, but what made it even better was that the temp was 35 degrees, the winds were sustained at 30+ and it was raining. The only negative was there there wasn't much of a view at the summit. Still, a fun day capped off with some beer with good friends.

That doesn't surprise me. It was actually sleeting briefly on Monroe, which is right next to Washington (and about 600 - ft lower). If it had been a nice day, the plan was to hike over to Mt. W from Monroe, but that trail is an exposed ridge. Common sense (and the thought of beer) took over at that point.
