2 hours running. Gorgeous hard packed snow. First real time i got to use my YakTracks that i bought a couples years ago. I cannot believe no one else was out to experience perfect running. I did think i got sunburned from the intense sun on the snow

Hey,

I love "whatever" It's been a long time since I have posted. We got snow here on the Rhode Island coast ( only had about 4 inches this year) so number two son and myself went x-country sking. The ice should melt this week and I will be back to running

Oh, and let me add that I ran with Wyrillco, another poster here, today. Usually I run alone and seven miles feels like hell.

But today it was a snap. It went by real fast. It was...fun!

Just back in the door from my long run, 20 miles in 2:51:20 (8:34/mi).

Since I felt like crap during my last long run, I decided to use fuel and salt during this one. It made a huge difference. I ate an Odwalla bar at the 60 minute mark, a PowerBar at the two hour mark along with 3 salt tablets, and I carried a water bottle so that I wouldn't be dependent on the bubblers in the park. Mile 20 felt just as good as mile 12, and I could have possibly done a few more.

Off to get my caffeine and re-supply Porter's dog food cache.

Happy running and "other" y'all.

Great runs all. Hi there Diane!

22.1 or so for me. Crappy weather. Good run. Stopped twice, once at about 8 miles to get some more liquids, and again at 16 to shed/replace a layer that was getting heavy with sweat.

3:33:42. So I can't finish 15 miles last week and have a great 22 miler this one... weird.

Duckgeek is a maniac.

Thinking of SGH and her race throughout. Hope she did well.

12 miles running at Stone Mountain Park. Worked on even effort with the HRM. 1:54:41.

Weather wise: 40 degrees at my start around 10:30 this morning, no wind, sunny skies. Very pleasant for a dry-fit long sleeve shirt and shorts.

Nice runs all - I was in work training M-F and then Saturday went out of town - Grizzly you are "The Man" - Here's to you.

Training had: Work through Lunch, Late Nights to get ready for the next day and mandatory dinners - Sucked for running miles, but I am happy that they make an investment in their employees.

I managed 12 easy today - Next week should be a miles-O-plenty week

Good running to all -

No, Roberto and Hippo are maniacs. Meri is an ultramaniac. I'm but a humble newbie.

BTW - Nice run EQ. Looks like you're getting some of your speed back.

I agree with Grizzly!

And thanks for the comments on my run today. The side street I did my laps on today is pretty flat, so I didn't have any hills. It helps.

20.5 miles in yesterday. Strangest thing happened. . .my road shoes just suddently gave up the ghost on me. One minute they felt fine. Next minute, they just felt dead, and my feet were slammin' all the way home. As a result, I spent the evening icing my shins. Nice.

I try to change my shoes religiously to prevent this. My orthotics did the same thing. They went from fine to wretchedly horribly in a matter of days.

Durt - I usually and rotating 4 pair of shoes - THey last longer is they completely dry out before wearing them again. My newest 2 pair are for long runs and the more experienced 2 pair for short runs. I have 2 that are getting ready for the graveyard with 600+ miles on them.

I keep two pairs in rotation. One pair was soaked, and the one pair just gave out REALLY quickly.

I was wearing Asics 2110's, and decided to purchase the new 2120's and give em a whirl. One ounce lighter per shoe, and slighly roomier toebox. . .I just hope they hold up as well as the 2110's have.

Durt -

I had a pair of Nike Air Pegasus 2005 with the air pocket in the soles. During a run one day that air pocket blew out. After that, it was like running with a brick on my foot. I wonder if something like that happened to you.
