Mac and cheeze, salad with a dried cranberry/nut mixture and mangos, and now I'm munching on cookies Matt's supposed to take to work for a party. ooops. But they are SO good (the nestle tollhouse recipe).

CTW--pick your battles. Dinner isn't one that's worth it. Little Miss will eat when she's hungry. If she's eaten it before and liked it, have her eat a couple bites, then let her decide how much her little tummy wants. If she leaves the table, then nothing 'til breakfast. If she complains, remind her that she chose to leave the table.

Cleaning my plate prolly helped me on the way to getting fat. Just sayin'<br><br><br>
OH...and the crockpot chicken thing was disappointing. There was not much chicken in it at all! The roast beef/pot roasty one was much better last month!

CTW--ah... still checking the boundries... She'll figure it out eventually. Although, my 9yo STILL dawdles through dinner. We have the 'quarum rule'--when a majority has finished dinner, we move on to dessert. If you haven't finished dinner before everyone else finished dessert, you don't get dessert.

We never had dessert right after dinner.<br>
Dessert was after bath time.<br><br>
And, it was usually something "exotic" like an orange or apple. On super special days we might get some 'nilla ice cream with hershey's syrup.<br><br>
We always got dessert if we wanted it, no matter what.<br>
BUT, we could only have 2nds at dinner if we cleaned our plates.<br><br>
That way, mom made sure we had a relatively balanced dinner.<br>
Otherwise, I'd have cheerfully had an entire dinner of mashed potatoes.....the beginning of my carb addiction. lol<br>
So, if Mom wanted me to eat something new, she'd serve it with mashed potatoes....knowing that I'd eat the new thing to get a 2nd serving of 'taters.

I hear ya. With her we are fight what the birth parents did. Fast food and junk food was the way of life. She always got what she wanted, when she wanted it. That rules doesn't apply in my house. Hell, I don't always get what I want.<br><br><br>
We know. We'll have the same rule too. Once she learns that we can't eat cookies for dinner.. But if we only could.! <img alt="biggrin.gif" src="http://files.kickrunners.com/smilies/biggrin.gif">

Chris..My SIL does something I like...when my niece asks for something else...or to be excuse from the table...Don's sister would say something like..."only after you take x amount of bites of (whichever veggie she hates)"<br><br>
It seems to work.<br><br>
I'm just PRAYING my kidlets won't become obese...I wasn't ever really made fun of or anything...but it sucks not to look like everyone else...from a girlie standpoint! Just wait until Little Miss turns 13!
