What's for dinner tonight?

We're having grilled pizzas, one with caramelized onions & bleu cheese, the other a 4-cheese pepperoni.

Nah. Craving caramelized onions & roquefort. Pizza made the most sense.

The steak tips from Friday are finally defrosted so I'll be sparking up the grill. In the winter I bring the grill in on the screened porch. It will be fun to be grilling like it's summer while it's actually 25F and snowing.

You can't buy wine on Sundays in GA...not a bottle anyways.

Oooh... Crab cakes! I love crab cakes.

We got a pork chop / rice / veggies bake thing goin' on.

These days you can buy liquor 7 days a week in Massachusetts. But... When we first moved to our home, you could not buy liquor on Sundays... Except in towns within 10 miles of the New Hampshire border (which had already done away with the Sunday law). As you drove North out of Boston, our town was the first you came to where you could buy on Sundays. That's why we moved here.

Yumm - crabcakes are my favorite.

We just had sesame-ginger chicken quesadillas made on my new griddle. Matt called for them special, it's his favorite recipe.

PA has the craziest alcohol rules - beer - you can only buy it by the case (not less than a case) in a state operated distributor. Or, you can pay higher prices and buy maximum 12-pack at a bar. Wine and spirits - you have to go to a special store for that.

I still think it's funny to visit my family in SC or FL and see beer and wine in the grocery store. Wow, how convenient.

Where I went to college, Oxford, MS, you couldn't buy cold beer. But, there was a drive-through beer store with everything stored outside, so in the winter that wasn't a problem.

Sloppy joes, baked beans, potato chips. Coming home from the race (15.5m, half of it into a strong headwind and my numbers totally suck, thank you) at 4:30, did a quick mental inventory of the fridge and figured with a quick stop at the grocery store for chips and buns, sloppy joe was the easiest option.

We have the same "no alcohol" on Sunday's rule. Pain in my rear....especially when last Sunday I needed some white wine for a sauce I was making and all I had was many, many bottles of red. Grrrrrr..... you CAN buy it at a winery on Sunday, but not the grocery store.

So, it was supposed to be potato soup or chili, but the DW says, "Hey, you could make this." And she hands me a recipe for "Vegitarian Meatloaf." Talk about an oxymoron.

Well, long story short, it was lentils, spinach, brown rice, tomatoes, corn, onions, garlic, cheese, eggs, and a few other things. Surprisingly enough, it was good.

However, this recipe came from the Food Network's own Giada DeLaurentis. However smokin' hot she may be (DW never comes here, so I can say that) it was a danged time consuming affair. I figured we'd be sitting down by 6:30 or 6:45 when I started. Oh no, my friends, it was 7:30 before food hit the table.

Giada, I love you and hate you so.

If anyone is interested, here you go:
http://www.foodnetwork.com/food/reci..._33522,00.html
