60°F this morning with a little wind. Perfect conditions for a 9-miler. I did 10.5 on mostly trails in 1:44:26. Calf held up okay as long as I didn't dig-in and push to hard on the uphills. Nothing on the radar when I left the house. Cold, torrants of rain for the last 1.5. Oh well, I'm back, warm and dry. Got to love it this time of year. Todays 60°'s was better than yesterday's rain run and 34°'s.

Final Long run of 2007 for me.

Including stops for water and resting I ran 23.87 miles in 3:52:15 this morning. I havent figured out what my time was taking out the water stops. It was in the mid fifties and humid (90+ %) when I started.

great runs, guys!

I ran 15 on the dreadmill at the gym this am. 1h59m00s (about a 7m56s pace). It didn't feel that fast. I had the grade set to 1.0. I think TM running is faster than road running (of course, I run in a hilly region).

Floridaboiler -- nice run. That sounds muggy though!

It was in the mid-50s, still, and mostly cloudy when I did 6 easy miles just now in 54 min. Normally in those conditions I would wear: shorts and a singlet. Today with my plan to mentally prepare for a possibly warmer race day I wore: capri tights, long sleeve shirt, fleece mock neck, gloves, and fleece hat. As I ran I practiced staying relaxed and not letting being warmer than comfortable get to me.

Hanging Jury - 15 miles on a treadmill!?! I would not have the fortitude to stay on one that long!

Nice runs everyone.

Ran a 6 mile recovery run today 56:27 (9:25). I kept reminding myself to keep it sloooow since I raced yesterday, Thanksgiving, and will race again next Sunday.

It was 19*F with a wind chill of 9. BrrrR!

About 2 hours of shoveling today at work...good cross-training right there. I'm gonna walk voer to Coach's later and I'll take our old beat up snowshoes and walk next to the sidewalk (which got plowed after I walked to work).

2 easy and relaxing recovery miles this morning. It was gray and windy, but not cold. Kind of a lonely day for running.

I haven't been posting the last few days folks.

Friday night I had to cut a run short by about a mile. I canceled Saturday's run and had to cancel today too.

Something is wrong with my right foot. It's right where the big toe joins the foot, down on the side of the toe on the inside of the foot (think the part of the foot that an NFL kicker would use to kick a football). It is sore just to put on my running shoes.

I'm HOPING it's not something like a stress fracture, but it's sore to put any pressure on it.

Tomorrow is my scheduled day off from running, so I will take that. I will try it on Tuesday, and see what happens.

That doesn't sound good EQ. Make sure it doesn't hurt at all putting on shoes or walking before attempting to run again. I hope it's just an achy tendon or ligament and not bone!

6 post Bat-Mitzvah miles for me this afternoon before the snow hits. It was a real nice 25 degrees with ominous looking clouds.

EQ, even if it's not a stress fracture, perhaps more than 2 days off would help.

EQ - Get better - Hope its just a lift sprain or a nerve.

it snowed 7-8 inches yesterday - Today was 1.5 hours of shoveling - about 1/2 and hour to build a snowman with my 7 year old. Back and Core fairly sore by the end.

Then 7 slow slushy miles followed by 20 minutes in the Sauna.

I will lift weights tonight, but skip the core work out.

7.5 miles this morning. I ended up doing it on the treadmill. Whenever I do that, I feel like I wimped out by not going outside, but my treadmill is on an unheated floor of the house, so it's barely above freezing in there. It feels a little weird to be wearing gloves to run indoors.

Another personal best for weekly mileage this week....one of the few benefits of not having been working. Back to a normal work schedule tomorrow. I'm glad to have gotten in a few good mileage weeks before the holiday craziness sets in.
