Morning everyone.

I had a pretty nice 10 miler yesterday, besides being attacked by a dog anyways. Why in the world would you take a dog to the park that is willing to bite somebody?!

So, as crappy as I felt yesterday, I managed to pull out a good race this morning and lower my HM PR a bit more. Well, a lot more. I felt flat at the start and thought that I would not be able to hold a 6:30 mpm pace. I was wrong.

I hit 5 miles in 32:48 and then 1:05:23 at the 10 mile split, which was 1 minute ahead of my time at the Rock'n'Roll HM. I held on and finished in an unoffical time of 1:25:11. I lost the sub 1:25 in the last mile... I had nothing left. I think I ran pretty even splits but some of the mile markers were off by a bit. Ran with a guy carrying the US flag until ~4 mile, which was very inspirational.

Funny thing. I was stuck at 1:28:03 in the HM for 3 years yet ran very good 10ks. Now my 10k has slowed to ~39mins but I've knocked 3 minutes off my HM PR. Hopefully, that'll translates a good marathon...

Dan - nice going

kfuller - enjoy your day of rest

BBS - Rest up. I was not ill prepared for the race just feeling for most of the week. The antibiotics for the spider bite must have kicked in.

4boysmom - although you are not checking in - best of luck with your ride

Way to go, RA, incredible race... sub-20 for that last 5k there you are set up some marathon this fall. Especially impressive given the weather wasn't perferct if it was like it was out here.

I started at 6:30am and ran 20.4 miles at 8:35 pace, it was low 60s at the start but up to 70 at the end and pretty humid. I did a giant trail loop including some territory I had never done before including an utterly monotonous stretch on the Great Western Trail. Legs were pretty tired and lagged a bit the second half but had a little left at the end. I gotta find me one of those spiders.

Nice runs/rest and take care all.
