Enjoy your day Alex,

I am hoping to get 8 in tonight afterwork... might even add a mile of walking on both sides of it... just for VRAA sakes.

Enjoy your day everyone!

alex & brian - enjoy the rest.

richard - may the 8 go well later.

brian/rainer - can't run tacoma. I'm back to 30 miles per week but am still taking my recovery slow. slight chance i'll do the half but we'll wait and see. will definitely be there to cheer you on.

regarding the hills. my friend, who has run Tacoma, said that the hills are a lot like they are on the island. mostly small to moderate but lots of them.

forgot to turn the clocks so am now running late (so to speak). Heading out for 9-10. Hope to get to 10 and back to double digits!

Morning all! Y'all remembered time change, right??? Debating on what I'm going to do today. We did get plowed yesterday so I can get out. However, roads are still icy. So it's either slip sliding away on the ice or the dreadmill at the gym. For 2.5hrs...

Hi, everybody.
Wow, the Midwest got whacked... it was all rain by the time it got here. Still, I don't think it was the flash flooding scenario many were predicting.
Richard, good luck on the eight, and Dan the 10...
I did five today. Slow, but steady, worked a challenging course pretty good.
Alex, best on the scholarships. Everything you can get counts.

Good runs, all

Rest day for me as well. Those hills I was running yesterday made my hamstrings pretty sore. I can only imagine how my friends who raced the hills are feeling today.

Everyone enjoy your long runs, rests, and recovery. It's spring break this week so majority of it will be spent working on presentations and term papers Home stretch here, finish line in sight.

Back! Got my 10 in. Happy to get over the hump and hoping the next one is a little easier. This felt like the 13's and 14's did a few months ago. Oh well, progress.

liz, dave, kfuller - enjoy the rest. you all deserve it!

baba - nice job on the 5.

Have a good Sunday all.

RUn didn't happen. I tried. I really did. I got out there and roads are packed snow. That's fine. BUt then there was the broken up packed snow, and the packed snow turned ice. The road was only plowed to 1.5 lanes, meaning I had to keep hoping over snowbanks to allow cars to pass. So, I bagged it. 1.88m, 17:16, 9:10pace.

I am cranky. Really cranky...

Holy hell, that has to be one of the hardest runs I've ever finished. It's 40-50mph winds out there on the coast! Surely next week's race will be easier!

Twelve miles for me. The goal was to keep it between 9:30 and 10:00 average, and I averaged 9:30 on the nose:

9:07
9:16
9:14
9:31 finally found my pace
9:24
9:28
9:19
9:36
9:55
9:38
9:36
9:48
Total 12 miles, 1:54, 9:30 average

Given today I'm a little skeptical about my goals for next week, but honestly! that wind was something else.

Resting up this week.

Take care everybody!

Thanks, Baba. I was wondering how windy that course was, as I was battling sand in my ears and fighting it from creeping under my sunglasses.

I know it's got two hills of note, but I think I can handle them.

Ended up on the treadmill. 12.25 miles in 1:35. Legs were a little sore from swapping my rest day around. Other than that - no problems. HR in check in the mid 130s.

Dan - good job on the 10
Baba - keepin' it alive with 5...
4bm - bummer about the run... I'd be uber-cranky.
Richard- good luck with the 8
Alex - enjoy your day
Kevin/Liz/Dave/Brian - enjoy the rest
Ellen - great job getting the job done!

Good Afternoon!
I remembered to change the clocks and was really disappointed when the dogs woke me up at 6 (slept in an hour) and it was really dark!
I got out about 8:45 and got my 20 in for the weekend. I was hoping for 21 but I was moving at a little faster pace than planned.

4boys - too bad about the run. I'm a grump when that happens.
Ellen - keep focused on the goals - you can do it. Remember the hills have a down side as well!
For those resting today - enjoy!
Bama - good job on the 5 - I hope you didn't get too soggy!
Dan - a nice 10 miler.

I hope all others enjoy their training today!

Hi all,

First track run in months. We've had a lot of rain lately, and it has finally cleared the track.

Daily Run Report

Date: 03/09/2008 Time: 15:54
Run Type: Just A Run
Distance: 4.0 miles
Total time: 00:40:24.4 Average Per Mile: 00:08:50.9
Course: Track
Max HR (for entire workout): 176
Average HR: 159
Shoes: Mizuno Wave Rider 10 - 01/2008 Date Entered Service: 01/04/2008 Ending Mileage: 132.6
Weather:
Temperature: 37 Temperature Type: Ambient Air Time: Start
Temperature: 35 Temperature Type: Ambient Air Time: End
Dew Point: 12 Time: Start
Dew Point: 11 Time: End
Wind speed: 7 Max Gust: 19 Direction: NNW

I ran at the track tonight.

It was very windy. Take away the wind, it would have been a gorgeous day for a run.

I felt good, but the effort was a lot harder than I thought it would be.
Run Segments
Good job on the double digits Dan! Running the half at Tacoma (even at training speed) seems like it would still be fun for you...go for it!
