Ran 15 miles today.

First 13.1 was the Mill Creek Distance Classic in Youngstown followed by a 2mi cool-down.

This course is a terrificly hilly course that features 22 hills. It brings out many of the Spring marathon hopefuls--especially those training for Boston.

Weather: 22F and steady snowfall at 8:45am. The road surface was covered with a dusting and footing not bad, considering the accumulation.

My performance does not merit its own RR today. My goal today was simply to finish the run in tact so that I can run speedwork on Tuesday. No warm-up, ran in trail shoes, and stayed fairly steady throughout. 1:42:04 (7:47 pace.) Mission accomplished.

Each of the past two years, I arrived at this race in midst of a marathon season, in good shape, and 6 weeks out from race day. The result was that I ran 10 minutes faster last year and even faster in 2005 (1:32 and 1:29, respectively.)

Probably try a little spinning tonight to shake it out.
