2 weeks ago, I ran a blustery 20-miler on the Boston Marathon course that nearly destroyed me. Today, I ran the same route...and what a difference 2 weeks makes!

20.87 miles in 3:07:33, for an average pace of 8:59. I had to keep telling myself to slow down, slow down because I felt so darned good! This pace was a full 45 seconds per mile faster than my last attempt. And this after a 6.25-mile run yesterday that was pretty darned near 10K race pace. I can't explain it, but I'm not complaining!

I had a dream last night that I was getting ready for my long run today. I looked at my computer desktop weather widget, and the temperature read 63 degrees! But then I realized that it was reading the wrong location: it was reporting the weather in "The Britains". (Don't ask me, it was a dream...). So, then I had to sit down and re-set it to read the weather for the correct location. When I did, it said 8 degrees! And when I looked outside, it was snowing! I was really proud of myself in my dream that I still geared up and got out for my long run despite a blizzard in 8 degree weather.

So, I was curious this morning when I actually DID awaken to read the weather...28 degrees. At least it was sunny, once the sun came up!

--Robin
