So far my knee is feeling fine We're headin' up to West Virginia in about 40 minutes to go to church with my Nana and then bring her back down here to stay at my Aunt's house for Christmas. Thats pretty much all I'm doin today.

Have a nice day ya'll and hope the runs/workouts or whatever you have to do today go well!

Hey Megs, Have a safe trip and enjoy the family. Never sure where to post these days but think I'll do a double today

Talked to my coach last night and he suggested I try to get on the stationary bike as I wait another week to heal. Gonna try 15 minutes and see if it affects my injury. Feels stiff today but no pain.

Getting ready to go out for an hour run, 8+ miles, probably, and then return home to get ready to go to my aunt's house for Christmas on my dad's side of the family. Pretty much all I'm doing today. I'm hoping this will be a nice, relaxing day after the last couple I've had, and the next two I'm going to have.

Everyone stay safe out there.

@7.5 miles or so today. Was supposed to do 10 but the gal I was running with suddenly had some bad knee pain, so we called it quits (fortunately we were close to her house at the time). Hopefully she'll be ok for next weeks' long one!

Nice running, all.

I'm taking a day off - acquired a cold. Fever, achy, and freezing, etc. There goes the weekly total, but this early in the season its not too big of a deal. Good day to stay home and hibernate.

Mikey don't be a lil' wussy. Glad Sundays are my rest days because it's crazy windy in the 'burbs of Chicago as well. Having the big family Christmas party in a few hours, definitely looking to catching up with all the relatives who I usually only see once a year.

Have an awesome holiday weekend folks and enjoy the time off if yo're getting any!

Got in 30 minutes on the stationary bike this morning. Felt good to do SOMETHING! Back's a little stiff from sitting up like that but no pain. Will keep it up this week.

Tonya--hope you are enjoying your time 'back home'. This Christmas will be a tough one for you...

Good running/resting all!

I started my morning in the fish bowl. Nothing scheduled, but that's what I've been doing the past bunch of Sundays, and coach hasn't griped about it, so I'm gonna keep it up. Heart really wasn't into doing a tempo workout, so I just worked on form. Most likely 2200 in 57:55.

Then for a ride. It's warm enough that I was able to do a road ride. It's been raining so the roads are really dirty. Thought about taking Tequila so not to get Ruby dirty. Then I figured I got Ruby to ride, so I might as well enjoy her! Very enjoyable ride, although it was very windy (sustained 25mph, gusting to 40). It was an out and back, and I seemed to be eating a whole lot of wind but never did get a tailwind!

23m, 1:37, 14.2mph

We said good bye to Grandpa yesterday. Family had gathered for "Christmas", and small groups went over to visit Grandpa in the hospital. Hubby and I were the last to go. We only stayed for a few minutes because Grandpa was so out of it. Only way to describe his breathing is ya know that rattle you get at the end of a milkshake? That's what he sounds like... His doctor basically said that Grandpa is 90yo and has pneumonia. Not much they can do, other than make his as comfortable as possible. We came back home last night and are sitting around waiting for "the call". Oh, and trying to do Christmas for the kids. My heart is so not into it...

4boys - So sorry about your grandpa and the mixed feelings about Christmas. Got to be rough finding a balance especially for the kids. Hang in there.

It was 5 degrees air temperature here in Fargo and windy today. I did 6 easy miles on the treadmill at the Y. My friend Dave was there again and got on the neighboring 'mill. We joked that we were finally going on a run together as we emailed and IM'd through his first marathon prep last year and keep up on each other's running a bit that way.

vashondan -- glad the back wasn't hurting.

roots -- feel better!

Teh Anti-Kewt -- congrats on the yearly milestone.

My heart goes out to those of you who are experiencing losses in your families right now.

Sneaking in just as the clock on my computer reads 11:59pm...

Today ended up being an off day for me. I hadn't planned a workout in anticipation of being a bit busy with holiday preparations so it's not a big deal or anything.

I'm looking at 7 Christmas Eve miles tomorrow.

4boysmom - I'm sorry to hear the news. It reminds me of my own grandmother's passing 2 years around this time. Take comfort in the fact that his suffering will soon be over and he will find true peace.

Flounder - 32 miles on the mill...wow.

Have a great night everyone.
