6 miles for me this a.m. 3 or so were done at 10k pace. 21 miles over the last 3 days. I think that is the most I have ever run over a three day period.

Good training to all.

Hey everyone...
Well my race was fun! And I wasn't last! I ran it in 55:54! (don't laugh).
When I first started running in '05 at 224 lbs. I ran about a 15:30mm pace. I ran for 6 months and then stopped. Started back up in November of '07. I weigh about 191 and still dropping and my race time was an 11:11mm pace. So Yeah! I'm really happy. I've seen so much progress!
The weather was cloudy and 44 degrees with the threat of rain, but the rain held off until after we finished. The course was completely flat which is a miracle in West Virginia but that made it easy for me to keep a good pace and even help my pace because there's usually hills in my daily runs. I ran with two other women and we stayed together for the whole race. We even passed two people!
So I accomplished my two goals. 1. To not be last and 2. To finish in under an hour
We have a 10k on the first weekend in February and another on the last weekend in February. I'm looking forward to those, they help me get mentally and physically prepared for my half in April. My goal for that race is to not be last and to run it in under 2:30:00

So thats it...stay tuned for more progress in the months ahead!
Thanks for your support guys!

Today was a long run up in the foothills outside of Ft Collins. 27 miles and 4565' of elevation gain made for a good butt-kicking! The weather was nearly perfect (sunny and 40F) but about 10 miles of the trail was really icy still.

It was a really cool place to run, along the Hogbacks:

Hope everyone had a great weekend!
This is not bad at all. Add to your accomplishment the fact that we're in the middle of winter and our muscles don't function quite as efficiently in the colder weather. You have a lot to look forward come spring. Keep up the good work.

It's awesome to see so much progress - keep it up.

I know that a lot of back of the pack runners live in fear of the DFL. Obviously someone has to, but it's rare. Commonly the person who does DFL isn't too fussed about - it's usually a walker or someone strictly there for social reasons.

I used to run, quit and gained a lot of weight. My first race upon returning was a hilly 10k. Two people finished behind me, a woman in her 70s and a guy who smoked a cigar when he was running. I think DFL would have been more dignified than claiming victory over such people.

Good run, good RR. Can't wait to read your report on your half.
