I have no run to report . . . I just wanted to start the daily chat/workout thread for once . . . it's a rarity!
After 4 consecutive days of running, I'm taking a rest day, but will probably do some core/ab work and foam roller work later on this afternoon.
Have a good day everyone!

Did more upper body work today....this is getting pretty boring although I'm starting to see a bit more definition in my arms. I did the arm bike thingy for 10 mins, then 10 real push ups, 30 bench presses with just the bar (40 lbs), pulley thing, biceps & triceps, shoulder lifts, and just for variety, leg extensions to work my quads. finished off with 100 crunches. Can't wait to start running again. I see the ortho guy in about 10 more days and then will start physical therapy.

Susan, heading out for a slow 1 mile flat walk with the dynamic duo pooches, Truffle & Remy

Tamster - enjoy your rest day!
TW - nice HH walk - do over do it before vacation!
Riley - nice upper body work! I really need to start doing that stuff . . .
Perch - nice LR! Your all set for your M!
ksrunr - 87 degrees? That sounds wonderful after watching my daughter's soccer game in cloudy 57 degree weather and my son's is in an hour.

Well, rest day for me. I'm a wimp . . . I can't even imagine going out for a "recovery" jog today! So I'm just hobbling up and down the stairs and watching 2 soccer games today. Maybe I'll take a little walk later . . . doubt it though . . .

ran 8 easy today with DS1 on the bike to chat with...ran 8 with 3.1 hard yesterday while cheering lots of people running the Hartford 1/2 and full marathon and have eaten no less than 2 dozen cough drops for my sore throat. Too much screaming 'Go runners...you rock...etc...'

Did pick up a 1AG and 14OA at the 5K, but the Greater Hartford Marathon people, with all the terrific (cough, cough) support they have, lost the trophies (and PBJ's time!!). I'm not too happy with Beth Schlugermeistermaster.

I know of several people who did not get a time for the marathon. Hmphhh. It was a blast meeting more people from the virtual world of running at CR and Kick. And fun talking with Professor Econo for a few moments.

Hi hally/barb!

If they sort it out, well I'll be happy for PBJ, but I'll always be leary of events with Beth involved. And that course wasn't as flat as advertised...

good running all!

Hi Dale, good seeing you again and DW too. ^5 on the AG win and to Denise on her first half. You made quite an impression on Protosun The race results do say preliminary so hopefully they will get Joe's time sorted out. We missed you at the aid station, I didn't realize you didn't know where we were going to be. At least my eardrums are fine today. It was a fun weekend and I hope next year I can get in shape enough to do the half. Steve, Pink posted a RR up there^^
Hey the rest of you, hope everything is good around here.

Hi everyone,
This is my first time posting. I'm a bit insecure about it, but my friend Pink says, "If you're going to read, then join in", so here I am. I ran the half in Hartford yesterday in 1:42:47. I will be running the Marine Corps marathon in 2 weeks with my hubby, so yesterday was my last "workout" before the big day. What an unbelievable day it was! Congrats to everyone on their awesome times! Especially to Pink who always underestimates herself. A new PR! Hurray!

Gorgeous day in Southern Oregon. Was going to run, but oops my sports bras were getting washed... So instead of flapping in the wind, I opted for 1 hour yoga DVD this morning (which I really, really needed to do). Alignment has been way out & ohhh it felt so good. DD joined in the fun too & did fairly well.. way better than when she used to when she would jump on my back when I was doing it

Went Halloween costume shopping ( Little DD is going to be a Jedi & DS a Ninja) & one game of bowling. I shot a 120 which is pretty decent for me, so was happy. The kids had a grand ole time, so it was fun.

Gin - Congrats on the race & welcome!!

Dtoce - Congrats on the 5K results, 1AG & 14OA!

Tamalina - thanks. TM is no indication of where i'm at, since I was running 16:40 miles on it. But still helps to further my progres.. the some outside, some TM seems to work well. So, will keep on plugging that way!
Are you getting excited, nervous about your race? I can't wait to hear about it! But maybe I can get a little info at lunch that won't be going on the boards
