Oh Tonya, I'm sooo going to tease you about this in about 25 minutes!

Last night at the party I was at my runner friends were saying, "so, 41 minutes right?" I laughed and said 45.

It's about 38 degrees with 11 mph winds out of the southeast right now...we head north first, west, south, west, south, east, south, east....so that may be a factor....still saying sub 45 and I'll be very happy.

Liz, good luck on your half, I'm quite excited to read your report!

Enjoy your Sunday!

Tonya - So, what you're saying is you may still PR and get a first place but it won't be as fast as you could if you were feeling better?

Flo - Ok, so, 41 it is!!

Pre-Shuffle jitters... Legs feel real tight...

It's on State (mile 2) then later Michigan (mile 5) where the wind will be worst. Just need to find a big fast guy to draft off The turn from Grand onto State will be fun with the construction.

Good luck Liz!

GOOD LUCK RACERS!!!!!!!!!!

First workout of the day in the bag. Fishbowl. 3000yds in 1:11. Longest I've ever gone and it felt great! Ran into my coach. He has another athlete he wants to match me with. He thinks we can really push each other.

Waiting for son to drag his carcass out of bed so we can go ride. If he doesn't get moving pretty quick, I'm leaving iwthout him! He's been at a youth conference and sleep has been lacking...

Good morning everyone. Woke up and my calves are tight. I am stretching them and such and it is helping quite a bit. Good luck to the shufflers. Everyone is going to do just fine. My predictions for the race are.

Flobear-- 43:00
Nirvana-- 31:00
Tonya-- 30:30
Phill-- 39:45
Run Asics 31:00

Although I think most people could be faster than that given their competitive nature.

Liz-- Good luck on the half marathon. I can't remember what you were going for time wise, but I hope you can get it.

I thought about the ING Georgia and Shamrock Shuffle racers on this morning's run.

Liz, hope your morning went well too.

I did around 7 miles in the wind and rain. I was tired and thought about coffee the whole way back. Came back to learn the coffee filters, etc. were already packed and in my new place. A quick trip to the store remedied the urgent matter.

Back to loading, unloading, and hauling for the day. Have a good one, all!

Hi everyone,

And good luck to all the racers.

There'll be no running for me today again. My left ankle is improving, but there is still some swelling and it's a bit tender.

My plan is to take today off. Tomorrow is my regularly scheduled day off. I'm going to test it out on Tuesday, probably on the track. That way if something doesn't feel right I can stop, and I'm not 2 or 3 miles from home.

I plan to avoid the trail for another week or so.

Good luck shufflers and those going out to run! I like kfuller's predicitions, I imagine Nirvana and RunAsics will give Tonya a run for her money.

Nice run SGH - sorry about the lack of coffee.

Ran 3:24 with a 6 minute negative split. Although it rained all night, it stopped in time for the start with temps in the mid-40s and windy for the race. ING Georgia was a hilly and challenging, yet pretty course around Atlanta and Dekalb. I can't imagine racing this for a PR. I ran first 10 with bhearn, hit the half in 1:45:35, then I just started running around MP from miles 15-23. Didn't plan on that - I think the body just wanted to naturally get done, or run at race pace. I'm satisfied with the effort and feel like I can get right back into training this week. I took a couple on-the-run self-videos, and if they're not too embarrassing I will share.

Have a nice day.

Great job, Roots! Your result sounds exactly like what I was hoping to do at National this weekend, before my injury interfered with the plan. That's good to hear that it didn't take much out of you...that kind of validates my approach even if I didn't get to fully employ it this time.

Waiting on Shuffle and Suffolk HM results with baited breath.
