<p>Well we are supposed to be having storms for the rest of the week so not to much going on outside or in the garden.  It's going to be a freaking mess though when I finally do get into it.</p>

<p>Craig is gone for the rest of the week and then friday night I'm heading down to Madison to turn in my house key's and give the house one more good once over.  It will be nice when it's done and I don't have it naggling in the back of my brain.</p>

<p>Since Craig is gone tonight I'm picking up Chinese and Gnomeo and Juliet and maybe one more movie!  I can't wait!  I think I'm also going to make my lip balm again and get that done as I'm almost out. </p>

<p>So I have been given the task of hiring a new contractor.  Cool, we need someone tohelp out with some lab stuff.  But, um, I have ZERO authority to complete the task and my manager is away but expects this to be done by the time he gets back. Good times, good times!!</p>

<p><strong>Beaker</strong> do you remember that lip balm we got at the race expo in OBX?  I think it was from our house rental agency?  I loved that stuff.  I ran out super fast because I was using it when I first started having my bad allergy attacks and my lips split so bad they weren't healing.  It had bees wax, mango butter and an oil in it.  So once I ran out I found a recipe that I could customize with those ingrediants.  I got the bees wax, mango butter and I got olive oil as the oil in it.  It's pretty close to what that little lip balm from OBX was like and it works wonders in the winter when my lips really start splitting again. If they turn out again I can send you a couple if you'd like... or anyone else that wants one.  Once my mango butter is used up I'm going to try making a coffee/chocolate lip balm also! </p>

<p>Well, it may be summer by the calendar but we sure don't have summer weather yet.  At least it's sunny today, that's a start.  Now if we could only get the temperatures up a bit!  I wanna wear my summer stuff!</p>

<p>I've been trying to find good shoes for Lena but it's been a real task.  She needs something comfy, durable and easy to take on and off (because at daycare they really don't want to have to fuss with shoes...the kids need to be able to put them on themselves).  I got a really cute pair that I thought would be perfect but they only gave her blisters.  Grrrrrr.  Yesterday I picked her up from daycare, took the shoes off, and went to Children's Place.  I took her into the store in her sock feet and told the lady what I needed.  hee hee!  She pointed me to these really cute ones and they're awesome!  I got two pairs for Lena and two for Evelyn.  Only $18 for all 4 pairs, gotta love a sale!</p>

<p>Hi all - well today I'm meeting up with an old-time college friend who's in from Australia after work.  She and her DH get to do some really fun stuff together (this last year, it was bicycle across Asia) and it should be fun to hear how that all went.  Plus, it's one of those rare warm/borderline hot days in SF, so I'm thinking some ice cream may be in order along with dinner</p>

<p>Did some experimentation last night using a garlic press as an erstwhile candy former - the jury-rigged version worked out quite well though it did stamp out some uniquely shaped candies (think wedged cylinders).  Still works better than the cheapo candy press I was using though, so I'll take it.</p>

<p>My on call duties for work turned in to an all night affair last night.  Three problems, 1 I fixed, 1 I passed to a coworker at 8am, and one still in progress.  And, for extra good fun, they're likely to repeat again tonight. Boo. all for one "tab" character where it doesn't belong.    Computers are amazing, but way too literal</p>
