HA!!!

I don't mean that title like it sounds.

5 HUUUUUUUUUMID miles this morning. And core stuff.

You?

Big for the weekend's racers. Sounds like some were.... challenging, but your determination to finish what you start is inspiring.

Greetings, everyone.

Today I have strength & Core stuff. I might go ahead and try to get tomorrow's 5M out of the way, as the temps are going to be way too hot to do any weed eating after work today. As in 100F hot. Yuck. I think Georgia is in for a long and very nasty summer season!

Morning Gang -

Wish I could run today!

Posted this last night, but for those who didn't see it, race report from Grandma's on my blog.

Good runs to all!

Good morning, ladies.

Well, I think I slept pretty good last night. So hopefully I'll get past the sluggishness that made yesterday's race so difficult. Oh well, you can't have a great race every time...

Maria & Missy: What's the verdict on you guys and the Fairfield HM next Sunday? I'll definitely be there...

Hello folks!!

Well, weekend run plans were a bust, too much stuff going on but I did chase a 3 year old around for about 4 hours Sat night so I think I might count that as exercise!!!

Congrats to all the weekend races. I am sorry it may not have been what you all wanted but you should still be proud of the hard work and dedication you put in to your performances!!

RFTL - I'm sorry that you had such a tough race. I know what that's like. You need some down time, then you can get back on the horse if you want to. Gotta figure out what's up with that thigh issue...did it bother you on long runs? Or runs at goal marathon pace? Hang in there.

Never. Not once during 12 weeks of really hard training. That's what's weird about it. With Little Rock I attributed it to the hills. Not sure what the deal is with Grandma's because that course is definitely not hilly. So so frustrating.

Cindi - I would disagree with you on the hilly thing. Grandma's first half is rolling hills..from what I hear.

13.25 yesterday followed by a default 1 on 1 weight session...wow. She beat me up pretty good. I was going to get up and run this morning but I didn't...I slept.

Sigh

Hmmmm, well I seriously didn't notice any. Especially compared to Little Rock. Frustrating.

How is Baggs recovering? I ended up just swimming and hot tubing with the kidlets, then they rented a movie while I fell asleep! The hotel lobby had a bar, but I could only muster up the energy for 2 beers (over 4 hours) and that wiped me out.

Morning all! Got out for a slow, recovery run this morning of 7.7 miles. I need a massage BAD. Will get to the yoga studio tonight.

Hi all - first off, kudos and props to all you racers It sounds like all of you had some hard days for varying reasons and many of you have the right to feel frustrated (especially you Cindi) , but you were all troopers and toughed it all the way to the finish and that's worth tons in my book.

Got out for a four mile run yesterday with only one break in the middle (yeah!) However, it was sort of a long break, as I dropped by my brother and his family's new house (it's basically on a street I run almost everytime I'm out that way.) It needs a lot of work, but it's a whole lot of space (it's a virtual Astrodome compared to their old house, which they're renting out) for their growing family. I'm going to try to put in my first continuous run since the surgery today after-work today, weather permitting (it's the start of a mini-heatwave over here)

Good runs, workouts and/or rest days to you all

Yay for Moon's long run!

Hope my fellow racers are recovering well.

Fort hose interested, race report is up.

Glad to hear you're in for the HM, Maria. How are you going to get there? I've decided that I won't be going to New Haven for the weekend. Instead, I'll commute to Fairfield from here in NJ on Sunday morning. Thus I have to travel thru NYC on the way there and back. So I suppose I could pick you up and give you a ride, if you need it. Let me know...

boB - Jason and I are actually on babysitting duty up in Fairfield for his brother's kids the day before so we'll be traveling up by train on Saturday. Perhaps we can grab some eats/drinks post-race?

douchey drinks, and now douchey fitness? HAH!

Cindi, I just read your race report. Inspiring! Just wow, way to gut it out! I hope your leg is okay, and that you start feeling mentally better about the day. The last 1.2 miles sounded completely suck ass and I know I'd have been in the same anger and frustration boat, but the first 25 weren't hell, right? Have you considered a form issue on hills? I NEVER want to see myself running, I want to continue to pretend I look just like Kara Goucher when I run. BUT, maybe it'd be a good idea to have someone film you running and then running hills? I am clearly no expert, it's just a thought. Are you not planning on running Twin Cities this year?

Brandy may not know it, but she inspired me to not be a wuss on the Spring MedCity marathon and I am going to register for it. Over dinner at the Happy Gnome I had said I really should run the MedCity full since it was right there in my backyard. And she very matter-of-factly said, "well, why don't you?" My excuse has been crappy MN winter training for Spring races. But, I don't have to run fast, just finish and have fun. So I'm going to do it.

Ran 8 loooong miles on the teradmill on Saturday. Reunion weekend, so I was up too late Friday and slept in Saturday, and I bailed on the heat and humidity and went to the gym instead. I knew I had to get my long run in cuz I figured Saturday night was going to be an even later night, which it was. I got home at 5:30 AM on Sunday. pffft. NO running or fitness happened on Sunday. Unless you count lifiting - a giant bacon double cheeseburger.

Happy trails all!

cindi, still thinking of you. we runners are high achievers so for most of us, it really sucks ass when we don't meet our expectations or what we trained for. if anything, know that most, if not all of us have been there and can commiserate. that being said, you're still one of the most amazingly disciplined and dedicated runners i know. also, you're an awesome mommy and a kick ass lawyer, too. hang in there.
