I got this message from one of the Master's regulars (as regular as we can be) and said I would pass it along. I like the idea myself and have used them when they are available on other forums.<br><br>

It occurred to me today, for the first time, to check and see if there were any other "skin" options in place to mix up the colors around here a bit.. I didn't spot any such options in the user preferences. If there are any, could you point me in the right direction. Would be nice to be able to change the look and feel ever so often.<br><br>

Was that a recommended solution to the hacking? If not can they be reenabled?

The issue was that the different skins were not part of the <i>official</i> software, they were add ons. They apparently were one of the ways the hackers got into the site.<br><br>
At this point, (last I heard anyway) Rich is very hesitant to put them back for that reason. He is sticking with the official software only to make sure that there arent any holes for hackers to get through again.<br><br>
I am assuming he will weigh in here eventually.

Wow, yeah I can see his reluctance in that case. Rather have bland then hacked anyday.

Hally - First off, thanks for forwarding the request - It's not real important, but I'd like to know who is making requests (no need for anonymity for great suggestions)<br><br>
Yes, I did disable all skins after the hacks as that was one way we were left vulnerable. Here's my plan:<br><br>
Once Vbulletin 3.7 is released, I'll be upgrading at that point - with that upgrade a lot of new custom features will be added. I plan on adding some new skins at that point. Release 3.7 will give me products and features that will allow us to offer 'premium' features. I plan on moving to a 'premium' option to offset the cost for the site as ads and the merchandise is not generating any income.<br><br>
I'm not sure if the skins will be part of the premium package yet - but I will look to the moderators here for guidance and input on what we put in that package.<br><br><br>

Thanks for the update. I will let him know what is brewing leaving out the premium account part. That is for you to announce when you are ready.<br><br>
I hope you can leave the RoadID banner, if it doesn't cost anything it would be a good reminder for folks to order one and you'd still get revenue.<br><br>

The RoadID banner is on the main page and also in "The Store" area. All adds are there. I was hoping people would actually VISIT that area on occasion and see everything.<br><br><br>
