Anyone use a strapless one? I saw a MIO one on Amazon.com in their Gold Box. Anyone know how accurate these strapless ones are? It got pretty good reviews.

Meri, I've seen these, and apparently you have to put your fingers on two sensors on the watch, pinchy like. So it doesn't keep an ongoing heart rate, but measures it when you touch the sensors, if that makes sense.

I thought about getting one, but I think I would not check it often enough, and it's nice to have my HR displayed constantly, so I can see it creeping up or down.

Of course, I would need to wear mine more consistently...

Since I can't use a strapped version, I was using a strapless one for awhile, and I really liked it. It gave very accurate readings. You put your thumb and forefinger on the oval's and in about five seconds it gives you your HR.

I used it while riding my bike, but only inside since it was very akward to try and get a HR whilst riding on the roads. I checked mine one minute into my ride then at five minute intervals, and at the conclusion. When I got upstairs, I entered all the numbers in and got an average for the ride.

I need to get a new battery for, so I haven't used it in awhile.

Given the option I would use the strapped version, but because I have an AICD, I can't use it because of the interference.

It ran me about $80.00 and that was two years ago.

Impulse Heart Monitor
