This morning there was a really strange guy at the pool. He's been there before, and hubby gets the creeps from him. Whatever stroke hubby does, so does this guy. Okay... This morning, for my every 10 laps, this guy would do half and would try to "race" me. Other than that, he just hung out.<br><br>
I finished my swim and got out. So did this guy. Next thing I know, this guy is doing a deck change. He walks to the locker room wrapped in a towel, carrying his swim trunks.<br><br>
I told hubby and he went ballistic. He thinks I should report this guy. I'm thinking he's just weird but pretty harmless. It was just me and this guy in the pool. There is a track above the pool and there were people up there.<br><br>
So, do you think this guy is just strange? Should I report him?

There are no life guards. It was just the two of us in the pool. He was in lane 1 and I was in lane 4. Although I'm there to do my workout and get out, I do try to pay attention to who else is there.

Does deck change = getting naked poolside?<br><br>
Because I would report that. That's WHY they have locker rooms.

Ugh.<br>
I've known swimmers who can do this, but they're discrete enough with it to at least be behind the bleachers or something....<br>
and, they can do it under a towel......no one normally knows it till they're finished.<br><br>
But, in this circumstance...<br>
ugh<br>
report him

you can't really report him for being strange. trust me ~ the gym is full of strange. Nor can you complain about him racing you. Maybe he's practicing to race you?<br>
We get the MOST complaints from the pool. the front desk staff hears 100's everyday. (it's cold/hot chlorine-y, she's wearing perfume/ he's wearing a t-shirt, she has jeans on (o.k. I kicked her out))they are likely to be polite but ignore you.<br>
However. getting naked on deck is a no go. stalking you or otherwise being creepy is also something most managers will take seriously. Main thing is.. if he gives you a uneasy vibe.. I'd report he's making you uneasy. They'll listen to that. Also, I'd avoid getting in the pool w/ him if the 'hairs go up'. Trust that feeling. Better safe than sorry. it's easiest to get over-run in the pool.<br>
At our gym; staff stays out of the pool area unless they are cutting through to smoke. it is a given if you step foot in any wet area somebody has a b!tch. I say this so you don't take lightly being alone w/ this guy. Sometimes (I know cause I've 'hidden' (great place for yoga)) it can be hours before anyone comes through that area.<br>
Be safe,<br>

My dad is having trouble with his 'puter, and needed to close the browser to restart.<br><br>
Anyway, he asked me what this thread was about...so I told him.<br><br>
He says that you should say to creepy guy, "if you wait until it warms up a bit, it won't be so tiny."<br><br>
That's my dad!! (the smart ass, not the creepy guy)

The strange workout isn't the issue. As long as they don't get in the way of my workout, I could care less what they are doing. It's just I know who he is because of the strange workout. It was the deck change (removing swim trunks under the towel) that got me.<br><br>
I will talk to the gym on Friday. They know who I am, since I'm there four days a week. Today, the one guy at the desk said he's see me Friday. Yep--Thursday is a bike day. Friday a swim/run day...

I'm shocked that a public pool would be open without a lifeguard on duty, yeeks. Boy, you see a lot of "deck changes" in the parking lot of bike races, but it's pretty cheesy to do it in a public pool when you are going to walk in the locker room and take a shower anyway, what a tool. Sounds like you are doing the right thing to have them document your problem with this individual.

Ummmm-that's strange. I would mention something to the manager...then they can say something to him/keep an eye on him.<br><br>
If he's some odd sex offender or something and tried to jump her or someone else's bones we'd all feel terrible about not doing something.<br><br>
But maybe I'm just paranoid...but I'm just sayin'

I worked for the cops in my city, and they were always pulling pervs out of the rec center/pool. So I'd err on the side of caution.

I agree, POTD!!! LOL!<br><br><br>
I would report him so they can keep an eye on him. Do you know anyone else who swims there? If so, you could ask if they have noticed him. I saw a guy do the change under the towel thing at the end of a tri, but that's different. At the gym, there is a locker room! That is uncalled for. I'd be creeped out too.
