I'll be there.....my second ultra and first 50 miler. Is it possible to be both nervous and excited?

Wee hours is right....race start of 6 AM. Definitely the earliest I have started a race. Guess I should get used to it now that I am doing ultras huh?

I have no idea where they'll be putting me. Wherever they need me, I suppose! As time draws closer (and we know more about what the weather may hold), I'll let you know what I may be wearing.

Just a guess on lighting, but you can't go wrong with at least a headlamp, and perhaps a small handheld--from what I've heard, the trail can get a tad technical in a few spots--leaves on rocks and stuff like that. The more "layers" of light you have, the more you'll be able to make out.
