I know that there's great debate surrounding whether to iPod or not to iPod while running...

I love my iPod when I run, actually - especially at the gym because of the shite radio station they insist on playing there. I also use the iPod when outside, but at a low volume so I can hear stuff going on around me, etc. The thing is - the armband I use to take it with me REEKS!!

My question is twofold:

1) Anyone else have this issue? (please say yes)

and

2) How on EARTH can I get the nasty, funky smell off my neoprene iPod armband thing?? It smells like a corpse's fart.

I tried just soaking it in detergent to no avail. I actually offended someone with it.

Any ideas?

Couple of ideas...

Have you tried Febreze on it?

How about soaking it in baking soda solution? Baking soda is pretty good at soaking up odors.

Or try soaking it in a strong solution of water and white vinegar.

Good luck.

I don't know which one you have, but I have the nike + one (neoprene I think). It actually has wash instructions on the inside of the band. I put it in a lingerie bag and washed it with woolite. Air dried in a few hours. Stink B Gone!

Glad I'm not the only one who's had this issue... I really thought that since it resisted everything (yes, even Febreze!), maybe I had especially funky sweat. Like a super-power. But not a cool one.

I was too cheep, cheep, cheep to get the "official" Nike+ armband, so I lack washing instructions - but I will try each one of your suggestions in turn.

Thanks!
