OK Spring is coming EVENTUALLY. But it's 30 degrees out right now at 7 AM! That. Is. AWESOME!

Wish the snirt would melt away. yuk.

I watched an interesting documentary last night called Enlighten Up! It's about a skeptic's journey into the world of yoga. I thought it was good. It was available on our Netflix Wii streaming thing so I watched it. I also watched A Long Kiss Goodnight, which had the potential to be a good movie, but was not. The casting/acting was really poor. Just my humble opinion.

Fun today: The gym, Monkey Bread, shopping with DD, laundry. Laundry isn't fun, but it'll be fun to have it DONE.

What's your fun today?

I have 30something handles to attach to mugs today. And I really need to clean. Or at least pick up so I can clean tomorrow. My house is currently a PIG STY.

anyhow, its a gorgeous day here and i plan on spending some of it outside. we are visiting grandma in the hospital who is recovering well from her stroke. then, we're visiting an auntie who has ovarian cancer and was given 3 months since its spread to her liver so it'll be a visit to say goodbye. she (and we) has/have accepted her diagnosis and the only thing we are hoping for is that she goes without suffering.

Howdy!

I slept well also. I'm glad I was not alone. I mean...I was alone in the bed. But not alone in enjoying a good night's sleep. I mean...it would have been nice to have company in the bed but I'll take the good sleep. Actually, I'd give up sleep right now for a good orgasm. TMI? I know, but... whatever. You'll live.

The plan today is to do things that make me happy. So DS#3 and I went for a latte for me/juice for him, scone/giant cookie and an hour or so in the book store. He is the perfect partner for this outing. We browse. We sit and chat. We discuss and plan and then we buy. It was fun.

Hockey later for DS#2. And then there is nothing planned. It's snowing fat flakes here right now. Maybe we'll do something outside.

Missy: Making people smile makes me happy. Thanks.

It's 40* here but they're calling for wintry mix and accumulation on Monday-Wednesday, so I'll enjoy the heat wave while it lasts.

Met a friend for drinks last night and ended up meeting this guy friend of hers who was kinda cute but sorta weird. Turns out he's an atheist but said he was Catholic (he grew up in the Church). He asked and I told him that I was Catholic. THEN, he tells me he's an atheist and proceeds to attempt to convince me that "the game's up" and everyone, even people in the Church, knows that it's all fake and God's not real. Ok. I don't have a problem with what anyone believes (or not), but when I'm in a bar in flirting mood, I do NOT want someone basically telling me I'm an idiot because I believe in God. And, he would.not.let.it.go. Then he said he was going to ask my friend (who had bailed by that point -- thanks a lot) for my info and he'd text me today. I sure as hell hope that doesn't actually happen.

Missy, I'm so glad you are well-rested and had safe travels to CA.

Prae: That guy sounds like a restraining order waiting to happen. Keep a safe distance.

I am making Monkey Bread. I've never made it before. Wow, the ingredients are butter, sugar and processed Pillsbury biscuits. I'm kind of grossed out by it and hoping the kids don't love it and I won't have to make it again. I'm on a healthy eating kick though, which may very well pass. I decided I will make Red Lentil Thai Chili from the Post Punk Kitchen this afternoon. Whee! It's highly likely that nobody will eat it but me. C is kind of a picky eater too, which is a bit of a bummer. But I'm used to making new and different things that only I end up liking and eating. And if I want to go out for Chinese food I can go with my friends. I'm kind of alone with the Indian food though. Does anyone here like Indian food?

I'm rambling. Just sitting here waiting on the Monkey Bread. 10 more minutes. la la la la laa laa laa

No sleep for me, but I'm hopeful for tonight.

DD and DH are going to the father daughter dance in an hour or so. DS is sleeping. I have a night of catching up on chores and DVR planned.

Prae - if he does text, just reply, Oh good, I was just praying for your soul. That ought to do it. Also, if your friend gives him your number, get even as soon as possible! :)

Beautiful day today. Unseasonably warm in the mid 60s. I have met my two goals for the day: my run and a haircut. Boy I lead a complicated life don't I?

Yay for a Missy snoozefest!

Tycho and I spent yesterday on the slopes. He took his first ski lesson during the morning (he took a snowboard lesson in December) then in the afternoon we did a few runs on the bunny slope then headed up to mid-mountain. He was amazing! He took 4 runs down a full-sized green run with 800' of descent (Duck Soup at WP for you former Eugenians) and only stopped once or twice each run. He just picked a line and flew down the hill in a slightly slowplowed position. I've got some great video of one of his runs from top to bottom that I'm trying to get up on youtube.

Greetings, all.

My fun was learning how much it would take to replace a noisy fan/blower and a faulty door lock switch on my car. $400 & $250, respectively. No thanks. I'll tolerate the noise and lock doors by hand for now.

Though I did have a little fun in leaving a surprise for mom. Her birthday is tomorrow. She wasn't at home, so I left a vase of flowers for her + a cupcake + a fruit cup. She's been doing really good on watching her eating habits lately, so I figured the birthday girl could have something tasty, along with something good for her.

Then I came home and for some unknown reason, started to tackle the overgrown weed/tree area between my fence and my neighbors. Three and a half hours later, here are the branches and briars that were removed...

This doesn't look that impressive until you realize that the pile in the middle comes to my waist, height-wise, and is about ten feet in length.

Of course, there is still more to go, as you can see.

That may or may not be done tomorrow. Like Maples, Georgia is blessed with a few days of spring-like weather. Tomorrow should reach 57 or 60, so I figure in addition to my run, (which I blew off today for this project) I should make use of the time before spring DOES hit and I have fresh briar/weed growth to deal with on top of everything.

I am beat! Whew! And I could really use some monkey bread right about now! :)

Prae - I LOVE Amichel's suggestion for a text response. Lublub lub eet!

Missy - I'm so glad you are with your mom and can have some help with AK!

KP - As far as the salt-on-wound thing, you can return the favor to me and Maples in September when we're roasting and in 90% humidity. :)

Huh. I've only ever had that where it was made with freshly made bread dough. It would probably be less gross that way. Definitely less fat & fewer chemicals.

The monkey bread was good but this Red Lentil Thai Chili is insanely awesome. And that's good, because I have a really big pot of it sitting here! I think my Mom would eat some, it's not super spicy though it does have kick. C might try it to be nice but the kids won't try any, I'm sure of it. I hope it freezes well. I'd love to eat another big bowl of it but I don't want to be farting fire in yoga tomorrow.

OOOOooo, FUN REPORT! DD and I went shopping - and I scored cute new red slippers for $2.97, down from $20! My old slippers were heinous, threadbare and covered in paint. And I found red square Oneida plates for 50 cents each, down from $7.99 each!! There were more purchases but those were the highlights.

Hey folks!!

So found an amazing deal on a much needed new dishwasher and we bought it. But because of the craptastic job the previous owner did installing my counter tops, DH had to pretty much destroy part of it to get the old dishwasher out. SO looks like I will be getting new counter tops now. I HATE my kitchen, the counters most of all, but didn't really want to worry about it rightnow. Oh well!!

Missy glad Cali is ending up to be just what you and AK need!

Maria have fun with the foodies!

Monkey bread indeed rocks!!!

Prae I LOVE Amy's suggestion, she is a wise one!

Ok, back to supervise in my kitchen, they have moved on to the garbage disposal and I really don't want to need to replace my sink too!!
