Good morning, guys. It's a beautiful day here. It was 28 degrees when I left for my run, and it's 37 now. The roads still have a little snow on them, but it wasn't bad. I managed 18.25 miles. It was kinda slow, but that's okay. This also gives me 3 straight weeks over 40 miles, and as far as I can tell, this is the first time I've ever done that! Wow. I think I might need to take the next week a little easy...

Morning!

Powerflex on Saturday is a rotating instructor and today's was bad. Very little instruction, she had bad form, and lots of repetition. Blech.

We got ~4in of snow last night so no running outside.

Yay for bOb!

Boo for Dr. T's crappy class. What a let down!

Nice runs KP, Katholeenie and Maria!

Good morning MIndi!

I had a great class - I asked the instructor after class what the difference is between Levels 1 and 2 and he said they just do the cable exercises a little longer - 45 second stretches instead of 30, more difficult moves in between the cable exercises like mountain climbers and burpees. And then he said "o yeah, you could totally do it, I watched you in class and your fitness is there and your form was spot on". NICE ego boost. Woo! Then I ran three miles. RAWR! I ended up on the track because I saw someone I knew and we ran some together. And I TOTALLY saw Missy running on my track today. So much so that I nearly blurted out MISSY! when she ran past!

Tomorrow is yoga and I am super duper looking forward to it!

I have to say, when I get deeper into fitness and training stuff - cravings for crap just go away. It's amazing. I just want to eat healthy stuff. Today I'm going to make some Red Lentil Thai Chili from the Post Punk Kitchen. I am also making Monkey Bread for the kids. I've never made it before and now I know why. It's full of crap. I hope the kids don't totally love it. I don't want to make it again. bleah.

Nice workouts so far.

Bob - you've had an impressive few weeks. Nice LR!

well I just got a 1:33:52 in a half marathon! too bad that they completely mismeasured it (turned us around early) and it was only 11.75 miles long. How irritating that they made such a basic mistake (and it's a race that's been around for 26 years, so very weird that they screwed up this bad). Once we figured out that they screwed up and it would be short, i sort of gave up and pulled back a bit. Finished at 7:58 pace. I think if they hadn't screwed up I would have finished a bit faster than that and been around 1:43:xx, which would have been a PR. Oh well. It did give me a good measure of where I am fitness wise. I feel like I'm in shape for around a 3:40:00ish marathon, unless the hills or weather or something else screws with me. I had forgotten how hilly this HM course today was. Should be good tune up for Little Rock.

Hey everyone!

Holy crap Cindi! I was about to do flips for you when I saw your HM time!! Super crappy that they mismeasured it. Bah.

Well I got almost 11 hours of sleep last night and am dragging today anyway. Resting HR was high (65) and I slogged out a 7.4 mile recovery run. DH ran 4.6 with me, which was awesome. I am feeling the mileage bump though and am at the stage where Saturday needs to be recovery and Sunday is long run.

Tonya - that does suck - both the instructor and the snow - b/c I bet temps are great there too.

BigG - supah jealous on the yoga. We have family rel. ed. tomorrow and I have to miss my yogalates. :( Missed it last week too b/w the instructor was ill. I may have to break down and get a DVD so I do it at least once a week.

Wow, great race, RFTL! It sucks that the course was short, so I guess you can't consider that a "real" PR, right? There's no way that I'll be able to keep up with you in Little Rock. Heck, I won't even try.

Btw, I just bit the bullet and finally registered for the Ultra that I've been talking about forever. This is the Lake Waramaug CT 50k. It's the day before Easter, and I'll be visiting my parents in CT for Easter anyway, so it's easy. It's on asphalt, and there aren't too many ultras on asphalt. I've always been leery of trails because of my weak ankles, so I'm happy to find an ultra on asphalt. I might have to ramp up my mileage a bit, eh?

I just got back from my first run of 2011. Let the comeback and weight loss begin. It was unseasonably warm today - nearly 70. BeAuTiFuL day at the park. I ran one mile and walked two more. Now to write myself out a one month plan to run a 5k at the end of February.

Hi all - a drizzly 8.5 mi today followed by a little bit of stretching and stuff.

Wow, RTFL! My last HM seemed to be a bit short based on my Garmin readings, but not by a whole freaking mile and a half. Still, though, I definitely can't keep up with you - nice job regardless!

Speaking of the "I did not know that..." category, saw a little blurb on the news today that the Run For The Pasig River in the Philippines was just certified by the Guinness World Records as the "World's Largest Run Race" - over 116,000(!) people ran it. It beat out San Francisco's very own Bay To Breakers. All I can say is yikes, talk about claustrophobia (not to mention having enough aid station supplies and amenities)

7.3 miles total for me this morning with 20 minutes tempo thrown in. My tempo pace wasn't what I was hoping (but HR was where it needed to be) but I'll blame that on the beers last night. Solid run for me though, and I still have plenty of time until my goal race to get where I want to be.

Nice job getting back out there Maples.

Yoga - I need some yoga.

17 miles in the books for me. It wasn't easy, but it's done. That leaves me with 58 miles for the week and just shy of 205 for the month. Woot!

That is a big bump for me in mileage, but the body seems to be cooperating. Fun fitness news: I got a whole trainer setup this weekend. Did 2 fast miles on it after my run and it worked well. Tomorrow is my running rest day, so I am hoping to hop on the bike for 30-45 mins in the evening.
