Spring might still be 4-6 weeks away, but I want to be prepared. I've had my bike since June, and the only thing I've done to it so far was washing it with a hose, and cleaning the chain/cogs with a toothbrush.<br><br>
What am I supposed to do to it before the new season? I assume lubing the chain/cogs... with what? Any additional cleaning required? Are there any specific tools?

You should clean the chain and lubricate when it's dirty, sometimes every ride in bad weather, other times weekly. You need to inspect the bike carefull for loose spokes, frayed cables and loose bearings, check the tires for cuts or wear and go ride.

Good question. I have only had my bike since October. The only thing I have been doing to it is washing it down and cleaning/lube the chain.

my friend's dad is an electrician.<br>
my friend's HUSBAND has been known to call FIL:<br><br>
hubby: "Hi Joe......ok, I'm on a ladder, and in my right hand, I've got a green and black wire...<br>
in my left hand, I've got red, yellow, and white. What's the next step?"<br>
FIL: "Get off the ladder. I'll be over in 15 min." <img alt="biggrin.gif" src="http://files.kickrunners.com/smilies/biggrin.gif"><br><br>
My phone call will be:<br>
me: "Sheldon.....I've got red parts, chain parts...black parts...and all this wiring looking stuff........what do I do now?"<br>
CS: "Put the tools down!! Pack it up...take it to the shop!" <--really, dunno what he'd say...I'm just guessing.
