Ok. I'm at a lossy loss.

I don't think I have asthma...but why is it that I can "cough up" during a morning swim or "have trouble exhaling" after a long ride/run.

For example...I biked Stone Mountain for 3 hours this weekend...when I was done with my brick I was choking/coughing breathing out.

This is "common" for me during winter months.

High was 55-60...I biked in the PM.

Just askin' for insight.

I think you may very well have a mild form of asthma

I have this issue, especially in the pool, from time to time - and esp when i do a hard effort.

I carry abuterol in various places, couple of puffs and good to go.

Dr time.

You should get tested for asthma. But you may also like me have a chemical sensitivity and/or lung function problems. The chlorline in the pool gives me breathing problems and phelgm issues.

I also struggle to breathe when execising, in fact in 10 years of running I always have to stop to breathe.

I don't have asthma but I do have lung issues.

You may be normal and fine.

Having some ttrouble and phlem is normal. It's you body telling you that it's been pushed and it's rreacting. Having snot in the pool is expected. Heck your shooting chlorine into your nose, you gotta expect some reaction.

Unless your truly having a tough time breathing, your fine. An asthma attack feels like a plastic bag over your head. You suck and suck but nothing comes in. The problem isn't really getting the air in, it's getting the old stale air out, but we've already said that.

Normal coughing and spitting up stuff after a cold day is pretty normal, if your not used to it. Some people have no trouble in the cold.

Good to hear that increased snot production is normal. lol
Cause, I"m tellin' ya, there are little patches of grass and weeds all over the neighborhood where I run that get an extra dose of "water" (ok, mixed with goop) from when I go by.

CS's Wed runs are great snot producers!! lol
The cold makes it moreso, but the heat makes my mouth pasty. Go figure.

hi Tithers,

My Doc diagnosed me w/ Execised Induced Asthma. Only happens when I really push it, and when air is polluted. I also (like CS) do not do well in the cold. I have not had any issues inside this winter on the dreadmill with the asthma. Might be worth asking the dr. - just to be safe. My attacks are not, and never have been 'plastic bag' level, but they are difficult, and very frustrating. I know I can do better and the lungs just limit me sometimes. I am hoping I do better when I get myself better in shape.

Did your one piece Uniform come in yet? I have one I use, I like it because the top can't roll up, Fashionable? probably not. But oh well.

Yah-I got my one piece. Hubby thinks it's HAWT. For some reason it got him horny...why? Dunno!

I think it's really comfy...I'll race in it at GCT. No belly shirt for me.

As for the Javelin tri shorts, I LOVE THEM! I've worn them many times already!
