I know there might be a few of you all around.

Tomorrow, Dec. 22, there is a 5 mile run at El Dorado regional park in Long Beach starting at 8 am.

There is also a trail run at El Morro canyon. Runners are meeting by Joe's Crab Shack in Long Beach off PCH at 7 am to carpool/caravan to the trail head. Runners will do anything from 6 miles to 15 miles on the trail.

What's up strangers? I'm signed for the 5 miler in LB. I'm pretty sick so I may have to blow it off - hopefully some sleep will help.

I'm stretching the Southern California boundaries a little bit as I am in Santa Maria on the Central Coast. We are in Southern California as far as Disney is concerned though!! Let me know if you hear of anything up by Santa Barbara or San Luis Obispo.

I am hoping to make this Saturday's group run. I've been insanely busy and just haven't been able to commit to any races. Sorry.

I'd like to do a 5k in January, though.

What's up So Cal (and beyond)? Anybody planning run OC this weekend? I may do the half (would sign up at the expo). http://www.ocmarathon.com/

The forecast is calling for rain on Sunday at the moment. I'll probably take a pass if the weather is bad.

I dont belong in this thread since I live in Nor Cal but I lived in SLO for 10 years and ran my first half there.

Ugh. Reminds me of the conditions from three years ago. It rained buckets!

I may spectate if it doesn't rain.

deja vu!

that was my first ever marathon - I'd would have ended up in the med tent with hypothermia if my family hadn't have battled traffic to the finish line and given me a ride to my car

forecast may get better - we'll see...

kimbro, Big Bear and Fontana look cool, I may sign on for those.

Paul, we will be at Surf City too.

the inaugeral OC marathon 'the wet year' was my first marathon too! Bad memories, I think I'll skip this one.

Ilene - I didn't realize we lost our marathon virginity together...

Fontana is my favorite race ever - talk about quad busters - take a bus up 2,150 feet into the mountains, roll back down and collect your new gravity aided PR - you can run the entire half at your 10K pace

I'll be at Surf City as well - the new tweaks to the course should make it faster and easier

Count me in for Surf City. I ran it last year, It was my first and I had a blast. I like the idea of running it in reverse. I'd much rather take on the hill in the begining.

agreed big time Stu - climbing Edwards at mile 8 is a much better answer than mile 22

there's going to be a big group of Kick people at the race, so come by and say hello

After years of bagging out on Fontana, I think this may be my year. I have lots of downhill running training, so I'm more nervous about tripping on asphalt.

Very cool - you'll be fine for Fontana

I usually do the PV Half as a training run 2-3 weeks before Fontana - I just try to cruise the ups and then try to hammer on the downs to get ready for Fontana

BTW - the first 6-7 miles of Fontana are not unlike coming down Western (the big hill at PV)
