To my dear Team LIT family ...

I just wanted to drop in and say hello and that I've thought about you lots since Gustav's passing. Sorry I haven't been around much, I've been pretty well in hermit mode for obvious reasons ... just doing my best to get through each day and take care of the T-man as well. The grief is still extremely raw and I feel overwhelmed by even the smallest responsibility. Just taking life one day at a time, and when it's too hard, I take it moment by moment ...

Trying to keep my chin up ... I miss my little Gustav so much ... there are no words.

I know I've missed a lot of people's birthdays and if I haven't been posting to wish you happy birthday, I want you to know that with my nifty Team LIT calendar, I know when your special dates have been and will be, and I think of you ... For all those races that I've missed cheering you on, and the fun reports I haven't read, I'm sorry I haven't kept up, but I always BELIEVE in you and I am so proud of your accomplishments.

You, my Team LIT family, are an inspiration to me and when I've felt really down and felt like I was crumbling, having you there to prop me up has been a life-saver ... and I mean that literally.

I hope to be back posting more sometime in the future, sooner rather than later, but for the moment, all my energy is being used on this tremendously difficult journey.

By the way, just in case you have been wondering ... the T-man is doing fine ... he's been quiet too but is doing okay. I'm happy he was able to complete his school year successfully and will be starting Grade 11 soon. He also turned 16 recently, very handsome and tall, and has gotten really fit since he's been living with me. He'll be running his first half marathon on Aug 28 while I'll be running a full, both in memory of Gustav.

with much love,
