OPEC says there's plenty of oil on the market and they're not going to up production.<br><br>
Venezuela wants to go to war with the U.S. over something, I haven't quite got that figured out yet.<br><br>
Oil companies are switching to the 'summer blend,' which is guess what, more expensive to produce!!<br><br>
All the talking heads say the housing market won't bottom out for another 12 to 18 months.<br><br>
The DOW is all over the place.<br><br>
Iraq seems to be becoming stable, much to the anguish of the media, however, doesn't look like we'll be getting that discounted oil or Haliburton pipe line anytime soon.<br><br>
The next President, from whichever party, will have a lot on their plate next year.<br><br>
The following Congressional mid-term elections, should be fascinating.

Why dont we buy our oil from Russia instead. Hell at least we know they dont always like us. they dont stab us in the back like our Middle Eastern friends who line their pockets with our money. Just an idea <img alt="smile.gif" src="http://files.kickrunners.com/smilies/smile.gif">

They're supposed to have elections soon for a new Prime Minister, last I read the front-runner dude wanted to bring back the good old days of hard-line Communism.<br><br>
That should be fun, I never got a chance to experience any nuclear-war drills the first time, hopefully I'll get in on the action this go-around!

Theory is that the oil prices are not rising because it is running out, but because of increased demand from china.<br><br>
Well that and greed.<br><br>
The russian situation as it's being reported here is that the new president is little more than a Putin puppet anyway.

But the OPEC nations control the prices it would seem.

We do. Waste-to-energy plants generate electricity by burning trash and landfill-to-gas projects capture methane from decomposing trash. There's even technology to speed up the decomposition. But environmentalists are opposed to both, so they're not very popular.
