Good morning peeps!

Had an early start today and was up for a 6 am snowy 5m around town. Snow wasn't too bad yet but at least yea it's Friday! Crazy thing was I ran past a house with their window unit air conditioner on... It's 23 degrees out, snowing and they have the air conditioner on...? Go figure, it's amazing what you see early in the am running thru the neighborhood.

Good morning everyone.

7.25 miles run this morning on the TM. It was a good run.

Apple/Jill/Loopy - I think that is everyone in PA. My brother emailed my about a inaugral marathon in Gettysburg. Didn't know if you all have seen this yet or how far you all live from it. But it sounds pretty cool. The theme is North vs. South with two courses going N & S. Those that live in the south will run South course and those in the North will run North. Check it out.

Good morning all.

Apple good job on the 5 -- was a great morning for a snowy run.

Dave good job on the mill. Thanks for sharing that race -- had not heard of it and it is a really cool concept -- tempted to try it even though it will be very soon after Boston.

Did 10 miles this morning in the freshly falling snow on the canal path - very peaceful...

Morning...

Apple - Nice white run. Maybe those folks were chillin!

Dave - Glad your run went well.

Loopy - There's a certain quiet about early morning snowy runs. It is very peaceful.

Good morning everyone. Nothing for me today. This afternoon will be super busy. Doctors appointement, getting new hearing aides and such. We have season tickets to the University of Utah gymnastics and that is tonight also. So It should be fun. Have a great morning everyone.

Apple- Nice job on the early bird. We got a lil white death headed our way as well.

Dave- Glad you had a nice TM experience

Loopy- Nice job on that canal path

Dan/Kevin- enjoy the resting

I hope to get out for a shake out 3 today, but may have to resort to the TM if I can get to that. Carpet people were supposed to be here 8 mins ago to install our carpet that must be 'platinum infused', and I really don't know how long that'll take.

Tempo was kinda ruff yesterday... got thru it though. Did the middle 3 @ HM pace (7:42,7:36,7:43).

Hit the gym for some weights this morning. I'm glad I chose not to run outside as a light dusting of snow and cold temps = super slippery roads and sidewalks. I may try to get in a 5'er on the TM later but my foot is really bothering me.

BBS - the carpet industry is a wonderful racket thing. Hopefully yours comes with pixie dust. Nice tempo.

kfuller - do your hearing aids go up to 11?

Dan - rest up

Loopy - good job on another 10'er.

Dave - nice to see you pounding out the miles

Apple - perhaps those folks are running an undercover meat packing business?

Mornin all, and TGIF!

We didn't get much in the way of snow overnight, just enough to put a thin film on the roads and then it was all gone by around 8am. I saw one neighborhood runner out there from my window but I didn't have time to get out this morning. I will go a little later from work, probably 7 or so, probably easy.

Last night was hill training night; I experimented with the "advanced" hill program on my treadmill. Set the max pace at 8.3 which is basically marathon goal pace, max incline at 6% and let the program determine the various segments from that. I'd say I could definitely have done harder as the 8.3 segments ended up being all at 1%, which is my normal "flat" running grade. The 6% segments were at much slower paces. So next time I try this, I will either up the max pace (maybe HM or 10M goal pace) or up the max incline to 8%. Anyway, 6 miles total.

Apple - way to get out there this morning

Dave - interesting race. I guess I'd be geographically in the south, except our part of Virginia sided mostly with the Union. Hmm...

loopy - neither rain nor snow nor sleet nor hail stop you

Dan/Kevin - enjoy the rest days. Interesting sports ticket selection there, Kevin. Would you believe I actually dabbled in gymnastics a little bit when I was a young kid? I wasn't very good though, sucked at the floor and strength exercises but for some reason I was good at the running and jumping stuff (vault, trampoline). Foretelling of my future athletic activities perhaps?

BBS - so I assume the carpeting is a "manly" color?

RA - have a good run later

Greetings, all.
Today was my first setback of sorts in '11. Wanted to get three miles in after taking yesterday off but I had nothing so I stopped running at two. Walked briskly the rest of the way. I would be a fool to think these experiences would just "go away" but hopefully they will occur far less frequently going forward.
No snow here yet.

Good runs, all

Hi gang.

I got out for some early miles in the snow this morning as well. Took my pup and he was quite happy!

Apple, so you coming to the Happy Hour? I think loopy needs to make an appearance, too.

Dave, yes, I have seen that Gettysburg marathon. It will be interesting to see how it plays out with the two different routes depending on whether you are running for the North or running for the South.

7 miles for lunch. Mmmm. Once again it was an easy run turned progression run as I cruised along in the 7:30s and 7:40s until the last mile when I dropped to 7:10. The best part is I had my watch covered up because I was wearing one of those winter tops with the sleeves that cover your hands (no gloves needed, woohoo!). So I couldn't even look at splits until after I was done, and I just tried to run "comfortably."

5 mile plod on the TM in the bag. Thrilling to no end as the cleaners dusted and buffed the equipment around me... mmm I love the smell of Formula 409 in the afternoon. In breaking news; DW has decided to run the Illinois marathon on April 30th regardless of whether the BAA changes the BQs and rules her out of 2012. She has also decided that I'm pacing her. So much for no marathons this year. I'll probably do Chicago because Hawk is doing it. It's a downward spiral. Note to Hawk: 3:10.

Hi all. Bit of a cold. I did an upper body workout this morning. This afternoon I wasn't feeling so hot, so I did 1 mile just to keep the streak alive.
