So of course we were forecast to get a huge snow storm (6-8") with high winds and there was talk of schools possibly closing. Unbelievably, today is our first real snowfall of the year. So of course it was WAY overblown. I woke up this morning to:

not a flake.

My kids are going to be dearly disappointed when they wake up, but I am thrilled I do not have to run on the treadmill. Even if there are 20-25 mph winds, I'd rather be outside. We should get some snow throughout the day and I am hoping it is not too much and is fully removed. I've got 80 minutes tomorrow and 2:20 this weekend. I want some clean roads!

That's all the excitement so far for me today. Just some work and then chillin' with the boys tonight. You?

Woot. I had a nice run this morning. 5.6ish at 8:36 pace and my HR was nice and low (153) despite cold temps and relatively heavy winds.

Morning ladies and all who follow. Got up early because there was a chance for a sloppy commute in, but it was all rain (36*). Snow\ice line was about 15 miles north of me. So I got in my speedy 2 miles before work. My try for a double and go for a sloooooooww 2-3 at lunch. We will see. After weight lifting yesterday with legs, and HIIT this morning, my hamstrings are tight.

Thanks for the props for MrsLH. Very proud of her for making the effort.

Good morning!

I just finished reading yesterday's thread and I want to add to the general Go Mrs. Litch!!!

I am taking a day off today... the knee is just a little bit sore, time to give it a rest. I also have a appointment with my ART guy this afternoon. After 7months of inactivity, my legs are a MESS. This is going to hurt.

But I also didn't look very hard between Thanksgiving & New Years. Cranked it up since 1/1 but there just isn't a whole lot going on in my industry here right now. Even at SFC - I chatted with one of the press techs the other day, and he said they were talking about cutting hours because it is still slow there. Pffththt.

Howdy, folks!

5.0 last night on the TM. Feels like I"m finally getting back into a normal running pattern now. Boy, my quads and calf muscles sure are feeling it. I'm actually overdue for a deep tissue massage, but will need to wait for another paycheck before I can get that going. Oofth.

Morning

Just over 8 miles last night and wow....talk about painful. The wind was something fierce (like Mindi said, around 25 mph or so) and gusting higher. As I run around lakes, you'll get wind at some point and last night it was horrible. My face immediately froze, slobber down my face, swearing under the breath. It was a little slice of hell on earth for about 12 minutes. During that time, I somehow lost the LED light that was attached to the dog's leash (the part that attaches to me) and I had to go back through that section to try to find it. I thought it wouldn't be an issue since it was a LIGHT but NOPE I never found it. **grumble**. I ran back to the first lake, dropped off the dog in the car and did a loop at that one.

2 hours later, I was trying to sleep with 2 shirts on plus fuzzy socks and 2 big blankets on me and shaking from the cold still. blah

Some recovery miles tonight. if I have time, I might fit in 30 DS or some Xbox Your fitness. we'll see.

Brandy - that sounds like teh suck. Boo. I just got my run in under the wire - we have a nice little layer of snow now. I really could do the skipping winter altogether thing. That was one thing I LOVED about living in Florida.

Tonya - good luck today - that sounds painful.

Nice consistency Amy and Ailarie. Ailarie - why are you running on the treadmill? I would think this time of year is fantastic for running outside in Altanta.

ART visits: So bad, but yet, oh soooooo good. :) You are going to love the effect after, Tonya. :)

Brandy: Jeesh, you are one tough muddah!

RiL: I'm mostly a treadmill runner because I can't see worth a flip in the dark. (lasik complications). So, even if I did go home at lunch to let the dogs out for a restroom break, there wouldn't be enough time after I got off of work to get a run in before it got dark. Essentially weekends are my only outdoor running time for a few more months, at least.

Aha - now it is coming back to me. That is really too bad. But it seems like you get along with your treadmill pretty well, so that is good. Plus you have an awesome RAWR! sign to look at.

Good morning, boys and girls. I hope everyone stays warm and dry. No snow here, but tons of rain. It's still weird that the only snow we've seen this season was all the way back in October...

From yesterday, Yay for Mrs Litch!

I think I'll skip a run today. I've run three days in a row, so it's not a bad idea to take a rest day this soon before a marathon...

I got an email last night that registration for the Danbury CT HM is open. The race is Apr 1. I've done this race each of the last two years (my two fastest HMs), and I'd certainly consider it again. Some of you other guys have threatened to do it. Litch, Coach, Missy, Maria... anyone thinking about it this year?

Morning all! We had a pretty nasty morning here which is why I set up a running meet-up as I knew it wouldn't be that bad and if I was meeting up w/someone else who didn't mind the conditions there's no way I'd bail. Success! 5.65 mi in windy, rainy and dark conditions but I met and chatted with a very nice guy from Ohio who's in town putting on a race and attending a conference.

Brandy - hate the post-run chills... nothing, I mean nothing seems to warm you up. Ugh.

Hi all!

Just work, work, work for me. DD is home - hopefully up by now and doing schoolwork. She kills me. She is in an online school (LOOONG story - NOT my choice). And she just goofs around so much while she's "trying" to get schoolwork done. I left work early yesterday so we could spend some time together, but she was stuck in the office doing schoolwork all night long.

She's only here for 18 more days, and I don't want it all to go like this. Unfortunately, I had to work a ton this weekend, and that interfered with any quality time we may have had. I just want our time together to be valuable. :(

Good news -- we are headed to NYC on Monday. My lovely wife tells me that we have plans for lunch, plans for dinner, and plans for . . . a surprise. I asked, and she said it's a surprise for me and DD.

We'll be hitting the city at rush hour. It's a holiday, but I'm still expecting a very . . . unique experience. :)

Happy Thursday, all!!! (how did it get to be Th. already???)

morning peeps.

dreary day in Boston. No snow (yet?) and I just hate this rain...it was as dark at 6:30 as it was at 8am (when I finally dragged my sorry self from the comfort of my bed.) It's a wonder I wasn't later to work.

This is not helping my mood at all. Getting away will be GREAT for me though, I can't wait to get out of Dodge for a few days.

My guitar lesson was fun yesterday. Mike, my teacher, taught me the chromatic scale in the key of C, and told me to practice by improvising to the Flaming Lips song, "Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots"...Mike's a funny dude. I'm also still working on my chord progressions.

Oh! I ran last night. Total: 1.75ish. That included a little walking w/u and c/d. Penny came with me.

No run tonight, I have a golf lesson. Although I forgot a change of clothes, so I'll be swinging in my work dress. hoo boy.

The weekend sounds like a lot of fun, Dave. I can't imagine Mila being in an online school, she would never get anything done. Well, she'd get stuff done, but not her school work!

More yay for Mrs. Litch! Speaking of spousal successes, DW and Titus Tobey ran for something between 5 and 6 miles yesterday and her chronic knee didn't bother her at all. I'd better get my arse in shape for the Couples Classic run coming up in a few weeks.

Maureen - if you're gonna be in northern Ohio this weekend, you'll see snow.

30 mins of walking/running at the Y followed up by 30 mins on the elliptical. Getting into a routine/groove with this...and that is going to pay dividends later this spring! Making it a priority to get my workouts done in the morning before my crazy schedule gets away from me.

No snow here yet, but supposed to get 5-6" by Friday afternoon...and the news here is portraying at as "snowmaggedon"
