1. Why do you run? Running was a cheap and easy wasy for my to get in shape, back when I was a fat guy. Plus, when I got into it, I could see improvement better than the other forms of exercise. Now I run because I want to be faster. I want to BQ. I want to do an Ironman.
2. What is your greatest accomplishment?
I'd say losing 80 lbs was the greatest. It made me more confident, something I lacked back when I was larger. I worked hard for that loss. Now that I have that confidence, I feel as if I am the complete package now.
3. What is your motto/theme song?
Higher Ground - RHCP
4. How do you deal with bad runs?
It happens. Sometimes you aren't in the groove. I just figure that the next run will be that much better. It all evens out in the end. Unless it's a race. Then I beat myself up.
5. Do you reward yourself for good runs? How?
I really haven't had a run that I thought was good enough for a reward. If I met my goals, then I did what I was supposed to do. If I exceeded my goals, then I underestimated myself. I guess the reward is knowing that I can do better than I thought.
6. Who do you admire most?
My dad. He is the most level headed, caring, intelligent person. I have tried to emulate alot of his qualities in my own life. He is one of those people that you meet and instantly know he's one of the good guys.
7. What is the greatest advice you have ever received?
I don't really have any advice that has stuck in my mind from anyone I know. Though, the one piece of knowledge that really changed my mind set a few years ago was from Ferris Bueller. "Life moves pretty fast. If you don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it." I want to enjoy life and I won't let anything stand in my way of that.
8. What do wish you had learned younger?
I wish that I had known that I would regret no exercising and eating well. Every day I think that if I had done just a little bit back then, I'd be that much better today.
9. What do you wish you could do but can't?
Voice impressions. It's just horrible.
10. How would your friends describe your personality?
Im not sure. It would probably be related to funny and evil in some combination.
11. What do you wear running? favorite outfit?
Tight Under Armor (because of the surgery), tank top, shorts, Brooks Adrenalines, Balega socks.
12. What has been your favorite race?
Marine Corp. It's where I realized my full running potential. I can go fast for a long time.
13. Do you have a goal race right now?
Five Points of Life Marathon in Gainesville, FL. I am gonna help Becca BQ.
14. What makes you happy?
My life. I love it all right now. (Cept work).
15. Tell us one interesting thing about you that you haven't said (at least not often) on this forum in the past.
16. Tell us one interesting thing about another user of this forum that has not been posted (at least not often) on this forum in the past (make sure the other person will not object to posting the info!).
