WTG Opie. Congrats!

No running today for me. I took Phoebe the Maine **** to the groomer this morning. That's always an adventure. Tons of errands and chores to do and get out of the way so I can run long-ish tomorrow morning and then watch the conference championship games.

Great job Opie! All your hard work is paying off!

Hi Lab with the soon to be clean kitty!

My 5k cross country run was fun but really hard, the footing was like running over a wet sponge. Those cross country runners are insanely fast, I think the winning time was slightly over 15 minutes. I clocked a 26-something.

Thanks. I should hasten to add about Paul that he intentionally ran slower than he could have or I wouldn't have kept him in sight. Lab, have a Sam Adams Honey Porter on the house. Dove, dogs and horses, yes, but I can't picture you with a pet snake. Good work. How about a muddy buddy race sometime?

eta-I'm off in search of steak which I haven't eaten in a long, long time. Will write up a RR later.

Wasn't Gobi doing a 50km today?

22 miles this morning. I waited until it warmed up to 17F. And I purposely ignored Garmin. I didn't want to see the splits, but rather just run on easy-does-it feel. Geez, I've lost a lot of pace in 3 years. I came in at 8:57 avg pace. 3 years ago I was sub 8:15. Oh well, I covered the distance w/o much stress, so I have that going for me. Now it's time to chow down.

For me today; 2.1 mile pre-race warm-up, 5K race, then a 10 mile easy run around the lake.

Mike, a 22-miler without much stress is damn good regardless of pace. I've been ignoring my Garmin lately when I run too (I bury it underneath my long sleeve layer), and I see what my pace is when I finish. Since I'm not training for anything, I have no preset pace I want to hit. Some times I'm surprised how fast I ran, sometimes I shocked how slow. But it's all good right now.

Dove, I hope the 5K was a good experience for you. With all the rain we've had in the past month, it had to be super soggy out there.

Nice 14 John, even if they were Tammy-less. Good luck tomorrow gobi.

Good on you Opie! Congrats! You too Dove---I love cross-country races...way to go!

20 miles at 12:30 pm---like irunmike---easier once it warmed up a bit. Ran with Iron J---4 x 5 mile sections that are well plowed and less traveled---sort of boring, but best snow management run we could arrange. 8:29 pace, felt strong and steady.

Spent a peaceful hour or so this morning doing yoga. Then a long phone call from youngest brother - been out of touch for many months; very nice to catch up. Then 10 miles this afternoon-nice clear crisp day-ending with the last mile being the fastest. Felt strong the whole run. Quite the satisfying day.

I took 3 days off work with flu symptoms and suffered dizzy spells after returning to work on Friday.

I hardly slept or ate anything all week.

So of course, I ran a half-marathon on Saturday, in 14 degree weather with 4,300 other idiots.

It was pretty hard. 1:48 and change. About 9 minutes off my PR.
