<p>This isn't a running injury per se, but it is affecting my running. The other day at parkour practice we were doing some simple rolls, and I managed to hit the ground with the point of my left shoulder, hard enough that several people heard it pop.</p>

<p>It appears to be a type 1 separation, meaning the AC joint is strained or damaged but not seriously torn. I fashioned a homemade sling and have been taking ibuprofen and resting. (Resting comes easy for me. <img alt="" src="http://files.kickrunners.com/smilies/blush.gif" title="">)</p>

<p>This happened Wednesday evening. Late on Thursday it feels less painful than before. I can hold small objects and have decent range of motion (passive -- active is still difficult).</p>

<p>Has anyone had one of these injuries? How long was it before you felt comfortable running again?</p>
