Well last week was way crazy for me and the week before that was flat. Still not able to do anything that requires lifting as my shoulder is still hurting. I picked up my running to keep the cardio going.

We hadd a new addition to the family so i didn;t get to eat like i would have like to, but despite that fact, i didn't gain anything, bonus!!

I have lost another 1/2 inch off my waist, so that is huge. i am down to about 16% BF. Now if i loose 3 more lbs, I will have met my goal. So that is what I am going to be working towards this week.

I know that we had more than the 3 or 4 people that have been posting. I was thinking that instead of 8 weeks, we need to keep this going longer. It would give others to jump in and not feel like they are getting in too late, because it is never too late. It will also help me to keep my eye on the prize, so to speak.

How does that sound to everyone?

I'd be happy to keep it going, even if it is not as a competition. I have really enjoyed the motivation. It really helped me take off the pounds I was trying to take off.

No loss this week, but I was just maintaining. Just for fun, I am going towork on another 5 pounds, but slowly. I still need to take my measurements.

Well I am typing the same thing I've typed every week. Workout-wise and with daily meditation I did everything I set out to do ... and maintained weight once again. This is with regular decent deficits and trying to control carbs a bit more, which I believe resulted in some lousy runs. But I did Find some new meals and snacks that I like including a good protein shake.

*sigh*

jtc and jebba you are both inspiring staying dedicated to your fitness goals with new babies in your families!

Lord knows I need to keep this "challenge" going because I keep pushing my goal date back!

Hey SGH,

What about shaking things up just a bit? For me, changing the routine is key to maximum performance. Doing the same thing week in week out, will get you the same results. If you are flat there is a reason for that, your body has adjusted to what you are doing.

Heres a challenge for you:
Try the Zone diet for 2 weeks. See how that makes you feel. If after 2 weeks, you don't notice a difference, what have you lost? I know for me it has been the best thing in the world.
Let me give you an example:
On Sunday I had a 4:15 pm ice hockey game. At about 2-2:30 I ate the following
1 cups egg beaters, 1/4 cup cheddar cheese and 3 strips turkey bacon
An orange, nectarine, and an apple
5 macedomia nuts
I play defense and there are 2 sets of defenseman, which means i play at least half the game, which is 60 minutes.
Never once did i feel hungry, tired or like i was missing something. Matter of fact, I didn;t eat dinner until 8 pm that night, which is about 5.5 hours later!
At dinner, I had a salad and 5 ozs of chicken and 2 fruits and some almonds.

The amazing the thing is that very rarely do I have a feeling of starvation, which makes my workouts so much better and more gratifying. To be able to have the energy to do the things that I want to and enjoy doing is amazing.

Thats my opinion, but if you want to try it let me know.

Hey jtc,

I actually did consciously decrease carbs and increase protein and good fats last week. I think the problem was I had pizza and a DQ blizzard and that negated it all.

I would be up for trying the Zone plan, if the learning curve isn't too steep -- is there a quick start for how to do it?
