I lost a pound. A now have 3 punds to go to reach my pre-pregnancy weight. I've also lost an inch off my hips and almost an inch off my waist. So far so good! I took three days off last week for not feeling well, but I counted my calories.

I want to continue counting calories this week and run 30 miles.

Hmph. I did 6 cardio workouts and 6 mind-body workouts and daily meditation practice and ate healthy/moderate etc. blah blah and my weight went back up to my starting weight.

I'm doing the best I can, and think I'm doing very well eating and exercise-wise. As little processed foods as possible, avoiding sugar-soda etc. What else can I do -- I'm not going to starve myself or do anything dumb.

hey SGH, what are you eating typically? Are you adding any fat to your diet? what is the ratio of proteins to carbs to fat?

I ran a 5k last night, 27.12. it hurt my shoulder to run, but i can't just sit around and do nothing. I am going to do some situps, squats and hangs tonight. Hopefully the hangs will help stretch my should out.

A rough average of the past two weeks is 50% carbs (most unprocessed/whole), 30% fat (most "good fats", 20% protein. I pay more attention to calories than ratios, I admit. The carbs were anywhere from 40-60% on any given day. I have probably been eating too much fruit lately because there's so much good stuff in season.

What exactly did you do to your shoulder? I missed that.

Try and increase the protein a little, 30-35% and lower the carbs, although fruit is good, that is where I get 90-95% of my carbs. I love this time of year because so many things are in season.

My shoulder, well that started about a year ago. i was digging holes for a fence and my bicep tendon got inflamed. I went to the dr and got a cortisone shot and did one day of PT. I hate PT as I had spent just about 18 mos in PT for my right shoulder.

the pain never really went away, i just dealt with it. started playing hockey and the repetetive shooting motion inflamed it worse, but no big deal. then, during a game, i fell with my arm outstretched. that is when it really started feeling bad and it hasn;t gotten any better. taking about 2400 milligrams of ibuprofen, gloucosamine with msm, ice and heat but the inflamation just doesn;t want to go away. I have taken a complete week off from doing anything, including playing hockey in hopes that i would feel a little beter, but no go.

so i am just going to work on core stuff the next couple of weeks, with some running. I have a dr's appt on the 16th of july and i'll have 2 weeks off from hockey the week of the 4th. we'll see

Most of them don't. This will be the summer when I wore none of my shorts. *sigh*

I shoot for daily calorie deficits to lose 1-2 lbs. week tops, because I need fuel! I think I'm getting enough.

I am in th same boat.. things go on but don't fit well! Sooo I got to work -first day off from school/work I got on board with a 3 mile speed walk first thing ( before coffee actually!) and am focusing on not eating after 9 pm ( I often stay up till 12 in the summer. ) I do not eat at night for hunger as much a latent need for comfort/ relaxation. It is a LONG term habit which I have always fought. I want to conquer it.
I also now have time to work the pilates and yoga into my day and so will aim at my original goal of increasing core muscle strength . This will hopefully help the back/ neck aches I have been experiencing lately.
