I think I saw from the other thread that folks were meeting at Lindbergh Station @ 6:00 pm with a plan to eat at Chilis.

I think I'm going to just drive to the airport and park there and take MARTA from that location. Does anyone have an idea of how long that should take me from the airport?

It should tell you at itsmarta.com

http://www.itsmarta.com/getthere/sch...index-rail.htm
Schedules there

From airport to five points 16 minutes + five points to lindbergh = 10 minutes

So less than half an hour from the time you get on the bus. You can check the schedules for when that'll be

Anyone have "street directions" from the MARTA to chili's? I assume it's walking distance...

Maccabeth said that Chili's was right there... walking distance for sure. There are also a ton of other restaurants there it seems, so we can change our mind if need be. I have to say that an ATL person is going to have to just say "this is what we are doing"...I don't know the area.

not that it's my business, but I happened to read the thread....

if you guys are wanting to stick near MARTA stations, go further up to Brookhaven. There are some great restaurants within walking distance of the MARTA station there.

lucky lilly...

I'm driving in from Alabama...and I'm going to park at the airport.
I know how to get there, the prices are reasonable, and there's a shuttle bus to the terminal, with a MARTA station right there.

I don't know if that will work for you or not, but I offer it as an option.

If you decide to do that, and let me know when you plan on trying to be there, I'd be happy to meet up with you and be an extra set of hands if it will be helpful.

I appreciate the offer of a second set of hands!

The airport is actually all the way on the other side of Atlanta from where we are (Northwest GA). I'm totally fine with going to Chilis at Lindbergh, I just was wondering whether CHilis is "walking distance" from lindbergh (with its own parking where we could park) or actually somehow attached to the MARTA station?

It is in an area called "Buckhead" (I think?) and the website posted in the other thread of the lindbergh station area showed a ton of restaurants all right there. If we don't see the Chili's right there, we can opt for something else. ATL is a different world from here, is there parking garages in like a popular restaurant/bar type area?

the address is 3887 Peachtree Rd. A short walk from the Brookhaven Station and there is parking here at the group of restaurants. I've eaten at ChinChin's here, but there are more offerings as well.

Ok, the Chilis is definitely within walking distance. It's on the corner of Piedmont and Marta way (or whatever the street into Marta is called ). Marta is behind it. The parking lot is huge (parking garage actually). It's maybe 1 minute walking. We don't have to do Chili's. I definitely know that is there, is all! I think there may be some nicer restaurants? I don't think this Chili's was particularly that great.... (service was bad and we both got the wrong food!)

The address there, though, that can at least get you to the place is:

2420 Piedmont Rd NE, Atlanta, GA

I tried to make a map...

Oh and it's much longer than 16 mins from the Airport to 5 points. Probably closer to at least 20-25 mins. I know from North Springs (opposite end of the line) it takes over an hour... It's about 30 mins to 5 points for me.

That sounds like a plan, Becca.

Tell you guys what, I have Heather's cell phone number, so if we are running late due to baby business and there are any changes, I can call her and get the change of plans info on the fly. I really don't mean to be a PITA, I am just really neurotic about outings with the boys. I start planning for a doctor's appointment 4 miles from my house about three days in advance. (I wish I were kidding).
