There's so many runners in Ottawa. Every time I go there people are jogging everywhere. I can't believe that you won't find anyone. And Stephen Harper running? He's an hopeless case. It would be good for him too. Bush runs (or used to run) Sarko runs, why not then?

Hey, I'm from Ottawa as well. There are tons of runners here. Run along the canal any day and you'll see plently. In about a week the winter/spring training programs will start, in prepartion for the Ottawa Marathon. When they start, especially the Running Room clinics, the pathways will be packed.

I am another Ottawa runner...recently refugee from the Coolrunning boards. CR didn't have a Ottawa group so I posted mostly in the Boomers thread. There are a number of others (tallrunner) around as well.

I love Ottawa running. The canal is a godsend for winter running...but then Winter you would know that. The Running Room cults...er, I mean clinics are quite something. Make the canal feel like the 417.

What is everyone's race plans for this year? I am running the Ottawa Marathon as the 4:30 pace bunny (did it the last two years). Before that likely one of the half marathons in April and the Diefenbooker Classic(10K) out at Carp (real fun, small town race--and you get run through the blast tunnel for the nuclear shelter)

Perhaps we need to start a list or a formal forum--although I do like the title of this one.

Hey, I was right behind you! Two years ago I was the 5:00 pace bunny at the Ottawa Marathon. My racing plan for this year is to do Around the Bay 30k, Run for Reach half, then maybe a 100 miler in May and some 5-10k races in the summer.

Can I barge in here? Hoping to coerce friends to give me a couple weeks' worth of work so I can crash your running party one of these days.

Running underground? <Shudder>

Stephen Harper might fire you if you run ahead of him (which could not be that difficult).

Yeah, ever since they moved the race from Mother's Day weekend it's been pretty toasty. I'm still not sure it was the right choice, but I can see why the Tulip Festival people wanted it that way.

I would love be a pace bunny again, but the Sulphur Springs 100 miler in Hamilton is the same weekend as the Ottawa Marathon. If I decide to run the ultra, or if my wife decides to run it, then I'll have to skip the marathon again. But if we're in town that weekend, I'd definately like to pace. I'm surprised that they were short last year; both times that I did it they had to turn volunteers away.

Well, lemme see. Doesn't an isotope follow a triple salchow?

I think I'm far too sensitive for the job anyway and I might say unkind things to my neighbour ooooover there, Mr. Lunn, as he's not behaving very West Coastie.
