I hope this is appropriate for this forum. I am not sure how extreme it is. It's just an anniversary.

On September 29, 2002 I went to John Ball Park in Grand Rapids Michigan and ran out to the 1 mile mark. I turned around there and had to walk back to the start.

5 years later and I am becoming an ultra-runner. It's been quite the journey. Many of you, my imaginary friends helped me in ways I can never pay back.

Thanks for the inspiration, the motivation and the knowledge that you share with me.

The journey continues ...
Thanks for sharing that! I love hearing things like that. I can't believe that you have only been running for 5 years and you have already done endurance runs. That is awesome.

Mr. Orange Shorts rocks!!

I have been running 3 years now. This post was very encouraging to me.

Thanks!

Edited to add: I wish I'd taken note of the day when I ran for 5 full minutes on the treadmill.
Congrats Mr. Shorts!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Continue to enjoy the journey!!!! I am.

A log entry for a 2 miler a couple of years ago:

6/5/2005winded going up hill at start, walked about 4 min, shit eating grin at the end

First RR I ever read was Muddy's WS100. I remember thinking, "That's fukking crazy! People can run more than a marathon!!!! I want to do that someday....."
I first heard of an ultra hearing about a woman who ran a 100 miler. I thought that was foolish and possibly dangerous. I have since become quite foolish.
Congrats sweet frog

I am just about to enter the world of ultras..or at least attempt it after 6 years of running...You are a great inspiration... and you make me believe that I can do it too. Thank you
