Weights/core are on tap + spinning this evening. I was displeased with August's total miles, but then remembered that I took a week off for total rest. Ahh well. They're just numbers, right? :)

I finished August with 180.8 miles. Like I said yesterday, I'm happy with that, since I missed the first few days of the month after our car crash on Aug 1.

I'll get Septemeber off to a good start today, I hope, with a decent tempo run this evening. But overall, the month will be kinda down, since I'll be doing a lot of tapering up to TCM. (I leave for Minneapolis one month from today! Wow, that's creeping up fast!)

Good workouts to all today!

I didn't run my 6 miles last night - but I DID GET UP THIS MORNING and run them! Yes, me, up and running in the a.m. WOOT! 6 miles of hills for breakfast. yahoo yippee! 63 degrees and it felt awesome out there. One of those runs where your legs feel light and your feet feel like they're barely hitting the ground and the running feels effortless. Not that I was fast or anything, it just felt good. :)

OK now I've gotta haul ass or I'll be late to work.

I did a little over 5 super slow, easy miles. It was supah humid again and actually sprinkling some. I stopped at the trail head for a sip of water and the skeeters were swarming me - IN THE RAIN. The mosquitos this year are really terrible.

Did arm weights too and am ready to get to work to make up for taking yesterday off.

Ailarie I thought you said you were doing tap this morning and I thought of dancing! : )

Good for you, BG!

I didn't run this morning but I did jump in the pool for some laps. My legs are still quite sore but I'm hoping they'll loosen up for later on. The group is doing a run later for the tune up clinic for Fiddlers. DH is working but I could take the girls with me for a little run.

Good morning!

BigG - those are the best runs!!! I'm happy you were treated to such a great run with that early morning wake up call.

Ailarie, it's all just numbers and you are probably the only one who really cares about them. One week of rest is a good thing.

runninlaw, hey, I've been wondering. Any more sightings of that truck in your neighborhood lately?

Nice miles for August Bob.

Good morning Colleen. Great job getting that swim in already.

10.4 miles for me this morning with some tempo miles in the middle. Feeling good and planning to rest up over the next few days for my ultra run this weekend.

Err no. :) At least not tap. I'd guess I would be more of a hip-hop/crump kind of girl!

5 miles this morning. HOTTTTTT. I am SO ready for fall.

And yah, the mosquitos DO suck. I have several quarter-size welts.

I'm going to take the Beastie for a bit of a walk. Dunno how far, I don't want him to have a heart attack from the hotness.

morning

Last night I got 8.8 miles in with 7 x 800. It was muggy and hot and I felt off mechanically. I really do think that it has a lot to do with the shoes. My feet hurt, shins hurt, hip was twisting, etc. Only 2 of the intervals were anything to write home about. By the time I was done, I was soaked head to toe, getting the chills and down 6 lbs. ew

August 178.8 :(

I want to get over 200 one of these dern days

Goon!!! great job getting up!

Hyland tonight. Hopefully the bugs aren't as bad. Man, last week I got like 15 bites. boo

Morning Gang -

Sounds like some good runs so far.

Glad you didn't press the snooze BigG!!

Maria - are you getting back into the morning running routine yet?

Nice morning run Jill! Your Labor Pain ultra relay sounds fun!

Brandy - do you go to Shoe Whisperer this weekend? I'm sure new shoes will help. It also can't help to do the intervals in the heat. There is no way I'd be able to do them at night.

Anyone here from Jen lately?

I got 8 miles done this morning with 5x600m in the middle. Felt good. I didn't plan this week very well, left too much running for the later part. I need to get 11 in tomorrow and my LR (17) Friday before we leave for the weekend or it will never get done. Supposed to do a 8k-15k race this weekend, but I can't find one near where we'll be (and we won't be back in time for Victory 10k), so I just plan on replacing it with a tempo run (or hopefully a bit faster).

Oh - I finished August with 211 miles, which is highest since March. yipee!

Good runs to all!

I've been wondering the same thing about Jen. Guess her internet is iffy where she is.

Good job with the run Cindi. You should be able to get the rest of your runs in before the weekend. I'd say do the tempo run.

Hi all - brief tempo run (3.75 mi) during a pretty warm early evening, plus some light strengthening & stretching. That put me over 130 for the month, which makes me happy.

I want to go to the pool for some swimming today, but I have a feeling because of a brief heatwave that's starting today it's going to be packed to the rafters with lap swimmers. I guess just get there early and be prepared to go

I formulated this crazy idea of a racing schedule post Twin Cities to kinda' "go out in glory" before I go into off-season mode. (In case you're wondering, I know this is completely nuts...)

Ebay has a limited number of these available.. they're electric-powered shoe dryers / disinfectants. For those squishy-sweaty shoes, or just rain-soaked shoes, I thought a few of you might be interested in the deal. Price is $7.89 + shipping. (usually these things are 25-30 bucks, right?)
