HOT out there today! I ran 7k at 6:30 AM and it was already over 20 degrees. Crazy, sweat fest. I felt like I had lead in my lungs or something. And my left hammy is still very tight and sore. *sigh* Went for a swim when I got home. Too bad I couldn't stay in the pool all day!

Never got out yesterday.

4.75 miles this AM. Sweaty. I run outside when possible, and just go to the gym to shower. Even the kid at the gym made a comment about how sweaty I was when I checked in.

I had fun with the soccer team last night. The other kids thought it was cool that I was playing even though I wasn't a coach. Jury's out on what DD thought of it:)

I was up late, so I didn't get up to run this morning. It was storming and I don't like to get on the TM if my IT band is tight at all. It seems to make it worse. So, I'll either do something later today or an extra over the weekend. I'm still in good shape for the week. I have an extra session with Little Miss Evil in the morning, because she'll be out of town next week.

I was awake at 5 a.m. for my run and it was super windy and rainy. RATS! I stayed in bed for a little bit listening to the rain and enjoying the cool breeze (the ONLY thing I like about the stupid crank out windows I have is that it keeps the rain from coming in and minimizes the wind). And then I was restless so I got up and did a one hour yoga/stretching DVD. mmmm felt gooood. By the time the rain had lightened up enough to run, it was too late for me to go. So, I'll get my run in after work. 45 minute tempo run, rah!

Mornin' peeps! It was 70 degrees and NINETY SEVEN PERCENT humidity this am. Gah. The good news is I did not wimp out on my workout. 10 miles with 5 x .5 mile @ 5K pace; 90 second recoveries.

Best part was kids have school orientation today at 10, so I was able to sleep until almost 6 too. This was a good thing as I was up late chatting with DH.

Speaking of yoga, DH downloaded some Rodney Yee for me yesterday and I was all psyched to give it a try. But I couldn't keep up with it. He was going too fast and talking about this pose and that pose and inhale this and exhale that and he's upside down and I'm trying to watch what he's doing and by the time I look up he's onto the next pose and dig your thigh bones into this and elongate that and well...it just didn't work out for me. This is why I want to have an actual class to go to. I hope the new one at the Y starts up soon.

did over 7 last night at Hyland. The bugs were horrible. 20% deet doesn't even phase them...amazing. Great motivation to keep on moving. You stop, and you are down a pint!

running some recovery miles tonight. I hate to brag, but it is only going to be 71 today. I am DONE with the hot weather and liking this forecast!

It was hot last night when I ran. Too hot for speedwork, but I tried anyway. Didn't go so well. It's hot again today, and I think that tips the scales towards me taking the day off. With a 20k race just a few days away, resting up a little won't be a bad thing...

Clare - with new Yoga routines, I always watch them first. And the first time I do them, I have to pause or skip a few poses. It's usually on the 4th or 5th try that I really do the routine. Give it time.

cool! i can't wait to read it. pregnancy (as you know) fascinates me - it is not a condition or a disease. in fact, i view it as a complement to the female body. then combine pregnancy and running??? its like two loves coming together for me :) i would love to see running during pregnancy widely accepted and embraced at some point in my life.

I can't wait for people to stop treating pregnant women like little porcelin dolls that must be kept from anything remotely active... this is especially aggravating for me as I work in a department called Movement Science and some of the women wouldn't know activity if it bit them in the butt.
