You'll be missed!

I'm hoping one of the "locals" will catch this thread, and give us some warning if conditions are anything like they were last year. I'll need to know if I should bring skates.

i think it was a mix of freak occurrences that caused the trail conditions of last year. The year before, it was a perfect day, a bit cold, but perfect, nevertheless. It is a gorgeous and fun to run course, i hope you get to see it in all its glory, because last year was not a good representation. 2006, the course was quite dry, not a drop of mud and the water crossings were a joke.

I'll be there. Sorry to hear you're not running it Meredith.

There was no way to predict last year's conditions. That was just freaky. A day or two before and the trail was fine. I'll chime in as we get closer to the date.

I know. I am bummed, but i have a really heavy race schedule this year and i really need to limit my time off of work. I work Fridays and Saturdays, so i really need to pick and choose what i take time off for I hope everyone has a fabulous race!!!!!!!! Except for last year's freak trail conditions, it is an incredible race, a great course, extremely scenic, great volunteers, and a whole lotta fun

Heh! I wrote down Seneca Creek as a possibility, but I'm already doing the HAT Run at the end of March and don't know if running both is realistic or smart. (These would be only ultras #2 and #3 for me!)

It's easy getting caught up in this scene, but, as I'm turning 50 in March, I think I might try being conservative for a change ... and do only the HAT Run.

Lord help me once I get a few more of these things under my belt!

When is Seneca Creek? Is there a shorter distance option? That is right by my cousin's place.

Hmmm... seriously thinking about it if my cousin is cool with me crashing at her house. A marathon on trails = the 20 easy on roads my training schedule calls for, right?

Who sponsors it? MCRRC or another organization?

Yes, the marathon is about 28 miles and the 50K is about 34.

Jesse you should come out! I have not been out to the trail since last weekend, and it was frozen but decent then. There's a fair chance of rain tomorrow PM so it should be good and sloppy, but at least no post-holing like last year. Have a good race everyone.
