Hey Tim,

I'll post in your thread if you post in mine.
I used to live in Michigan...twice...1974 - 1981; then moved back in 1987 until I left for college and then for good (moved outa my parents house).

I've been to Ann Arbor a bunch of times. My High School Girlfriend went to U of M. I graduated from Andover High School in Bloomfield Hills. (I was a transplant, no snobbery jokes required. )

Did you ever live in Alabama or drive through it?

Tim
Hmmmm, I always sensed that snooty air about you. Now it all makes sense.
I ran in shorts and a long sleeve shirt last night. I should have worn a t-shirt. I was complaining about the heat the whole run. On January 8. In Michigan. Freaky indeed.
New to this site, glad to see some locals....

Lyon Township here. I too ran in shorts and a short sleeve shirt last night at Island Lake - wierd to run in the wind, rain, and dark in January and be warm!
Kevin - I run on the poto and at Island Lake soemwhat frequently.

I also send out a weekly email list detailing trail runs/events in the area. If you are interested in joining the list send me a PM with your email address.

You can see the list here: http://groups.google.com/group/ann-a...-trail-runners
Anyone running the Martian 1/2 or full on April 6th? It starts at UofM-Dearborn and runs thru Hines Park.

I picked my 1st 1/2 to be in Ithaca, NY on 04/06/08 but if I can swing the drive in I'd rather do the Martian 1/2 (would be a good excuse for a trip home and I won't have to worry about parking b/c my dad lives right around the corner from the start).
Livonia runner : )

Sara, I'm planning on doing the Martian 1/2.

Don't let their website fool you. Even though their pictures indicate otherwise, last year I was only one I saw who dressed Martian-ish -- green feather boa and green glitter martian ears.
Michigan runners - Keep the date open - September 13, 2008.

If all goes as planned I will be putting on a 5K in Ann Arbor in conjunction with the Homegrown Festival. It will definitely be a fun event with some cool local prizes and awards. I'll post more once details become more finalized.
DH and I will be home next month (July 9-20). Anyone know of any local races (e.g., Deaborn / Novi / Ann Arbor area) the weekend of the 11th? We're running a 5k in Gaylord on the 19th.
This is not a race that I have done and at this point am not planning to this year but it sounds interesting - especially the pancake part.

Mt.
