Small local 5K this morning. Ran well and managed to hang in there for 6th overall. Could have passed a kid in the last 20 yards, but thought it would look tacky.

Hola...

18 mile extremely solid run early this morning with a bunch of others. Broke away with two dayside, one of whom is a sub-2:30 marathoner and a 1:09 half guy, the other a sub-3'er. You can guess who did the pacing. Run went like this:

WU - 3 miles @ ~7:45
5 miles @ 6:39
1 mile jog
6 miles @ 6:20
2 miles jog

Total distance worked out to be near 18.

Was tapped out running full stride for most of this. Felt great to hang on like that.

Did a 30-minute ride this morning to loosen up for tomorrow. Feeling good about the switch to the du, looking forward to the 9-11 tribute ceremony, and ready to hammer the course.

Nice run boys!!
Good luck Jen!!

13miles alone with the first few miles in pouring rain. Flexor or something is bothering me . Boy, it isn't good when 13 miles feel that long/laboring....
Oh I swam 2500m right before that. And didn't have time to eat other than a banana all morning. I was shocked to see having lost 3lbs from swim/run in spite of 2 bottles of water. 20mim yoga.
Decided not to do mtb race tomorrow. Boohoo...

40 mile ride with local cycle club. Great weather and an awesome ride. Only one dog encounter and one freakishly aggressive squirrel...

Jen - not because of the hip. The weather has been so wet and I haven't ridden much and I have no confidence to deal with mechanical isssues associated with muddy conditions. So decided to save $$.

Alicia - good luck tomorrow.
