dor.. kind of. Up early to get my bike to shop to see if they can salvage it, they did (see other thread), so I can race tommorow. then walk 5 hours for a 100yr scouting thing - lots of super fun boy stuff - then off to a "celebration of life" (aka wake) for my ex business partner who died... TWO FREAKIN WEEKS AGO. I just found out. Wow. He was way older, but still freaks me out. And then an hour of canvassing the neighborhood selling cubscout popcorn.

Hi guys!!!!

Sad that I can only find time to check in on weekends. Between work, Little BrewDad's activities, and life in general...things have been crazy around these parts. I've still been able to carve in training time since I've got a HM in 3 weeks...so I've been running...20-30 mpw. Tried to go to the track today but the football teams were in full force so I did an easy 3 to break in my new adidas Supernova Glides. Got a sweet discount pass to the employee store so we went a little crazy today.

Looks like everyone is still doing well, albeit busy.

Quite around this thread today...must have a lot of racers!!

13m run this morning - was going to do 12, but felt good so went the extra mile. Made sure to get in plenty of hill time, which I definitely feel this evening. I'm experimenting with some different fueling/hydration strategies on the longer runs...going back to gummy bears and trying out pretzels, and back to regular gatorade but watered down a bit. So, for the first hour, just did water when I felt like it, about 7 small pretzels at the 1-hour mark, gatorade when I felt like it during the second hour. Seemed to work!

Followed by a fire station tour, lunch with an old friend, shoe shopping with the kiddos, dinner at Ruby's, and getting the jogger and snacks ready for Race for the Cure tomorrow.

I had a horrible run on Saturday. 85F and humid. I felt like I was running on the surface of the sun. I made it only 4mi. Then I felt awful the rest of the day and was sick all day Sunday when I was supposed to do 11mi. I was NOT a good weekend.
